Soul Caliber: The Movie

The Good News Is That Uwe Boll Is Nowhere Near This One

The film rights to Namco's fighter video game SOUL CALIBUR have been picked up by Anthem Pictures, Warren Zide's production company. Together with Craig Perry, Zide was one of the producing pair behind the AMERICAN PIE films. Anthem has a deal with Sony Pictures, meaning the movie will get made and distributed there.

The SOUL CALIBUR video games rely more on combat than storytelling to deliver entertainment, but what tale there is about duelling monks will be fleshed out in the picture. SOUL CALIBUR 2 came out last year and instantly became a bestseller, as well as winning many game industry awards.

I didn't play SC2, and from what I remember, the "Story" in SC1 was kind of sparse, at best. After Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, one can only wonder what kind of movie they'll make out of a fighting game.

Well... to be fair the first MK movie had fantastic sound. First movie in DTS I had seen... I came out with my head ringing but it was a lot of at that.

Ur not that I hold much hope for SC2 the movie mind you.

The Good News Is That Uwe Boll Is Nowhere Near This One

Shouldn''t that be the tagline for every videogame franchise-based movie to come? (Which isn''t a Boll KG production.)

Struggling ... to ... care and ... failing .... so ..... blah ...

...no good ...this is no good ...it''s a disaster!

I sense another Street Fighter movie in this one! And I''m no longer 12 years old so I won''t care for it!
