Oskar Schindler vs. Bruce Wayne (NOT!)

Neeson, Freeman confirmed for Bat-cast!
Thursday, February 19, 2004: Looks like our BOF sources were right! First of all, a source told us last weekend to expect more official casting info this week. And now, VARIETY (subscription may be required) is confirming that both Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman are officially in the cast for BATMAN. "Freeman will play Lucius Fox, a respected businessman and the CEO of billionaire Bruce Wayne's mega-conglom, based in Gotham City." This confirms what many BOF sources have been telling us for a while now. Back on January 19th, BOF reported that "he [Freeman] may be--or was at one time--up for the role of Lucius Fox, and not a villain as rumored." The source was right. Neeson is now being confirmed as the villain Ra's Al Ghul. "Liam Neeson plays the villain, Ra's al Ghul, a wealthy international terrorist," says the VARIETY report. Which roles should we hear about next? Gordon and Falcone.

This movie definitely has some star power behind it.

That pic really does look like Liam.

Nice site there flux

I think they chose well.

I''m getting a really good vibe from this. Great casting, great director and the shooting script is, in a word, awesome.

Fingers crossed!

You''ve read the shooting script, or have you just heard it is awesome?

I don''t know, it seems like they''re just packing in big name actors in hopes that we''ll be so dazzled by their star power that we won''t notice the crap story. I hope it''s a good movie, but I''m just not convinced.

Okay, I''m lazy. Anyone been announced for the Bat yet?

Christian ""American Psycho"" Bale is Batman. Michael ""Alfie"" Caine is Alfred.

Ah. Thanks

All in all, I think the cast is shaping up well. I''m not a real fan of Bale, but the boy can act. Actually, that''s my only real gripe-he''s a boy.

I always envision batman as more manly, less boyish.

He kicked ass in Equilibrium. Best action movie no one cared about. It''s Farenheit 451''s story with more guns.

Wrong, all wrong! (From Superhero Hype)

In a bit of a blunder, Variety reported yesterday that Liam Neeson was playing the villain, Ra''s Al Ghul, in Christopher Nolan''s Batman.

The trade has now issued a correction, saying that Neeson instead is playing Henri Ducard, mentor to Bruce Wayne in the Warner Bros. film.

This brings us back to square one with the villains. All we know is that Cillian Murphy is a villain in the film, but the studio has not disclosed who.

We all know that WB/DC cannot produce a good movie anymore. Let''s not get our hopes up only to have them crushed. Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Cerry, what could go wrong?!?!

Henri Ducard

Sheesh, who needs to by the acutal Bat-encyclopedia now.

So how does tall, thin, relatively young Neeson square uop with the older, Stacey Keach-playing-Mike-Hammer-cigar-smoking-Sam-Spade-bad-ass that Ducard is supposed to be?

So now it''s apparently Katsumoto vs. Bruce Wayne...

Watanabe will play the villainous Ra''s Al Ghul, an immortal strategic mastermind who wants to bring his own brand of order to the world.

Is this a good casting choice?

He was the only good thing about The Last Samurai so I think so.

Yeah, but could you see him playing Ra''s al Ghul? I''ll admit, I had trouble seeing Viggo Mortenson in the role or at the least with the funky chin moustache.

Yeah, Watanabe is a good choice to play the Mandarin, erm, Katsumoto.

Just as long as they dont replace Bale with Cruise and then throw in a John Travolta cameo.

I have heard that there will be a cameo by a familiar Bat character/villain that hasn''t been disclosed yet. Just so long as Travolta doesn''t play Mr. Zsasz.

Man, I''d love to see Travolta doing the Bat dance in a Batman film.

Yes I may be drunk.

Whaddaya mean maybe?

Reading...found it online, then read other reviews from respected sites that confirmed that it''s the real one. Justifies the casting (especially the ""youthful"" Bale)...it''s gone now, though;)
