This looks pretty cool...

If someone more organized at GWJ could start a weekly gaming session I would love to play..

I havent played D&D since 1st Edition but I'm sure I could pick up 3rd very fast.

i would love to play a nice tabletop/online chatroom game with gwj group...^^

This looks great, although I think it would be much more fun with RogerWilco or somesuch instead of text chat.

I have to say bravo to the developers working on this, they are truly pioneering new levels of geekitude here. I love it!

Thanks for the post. My old college buddies have discussed developing something like this for ourselves....

No reason why we couldn''t use this for die rolls, positioning and such and do the rest over Wilco. We''d need a DM first though. Volunteers?

Only problem I can see is we''d likely end up with too many players. How do you GM a group of 25?

I''d GM for us.

Sounds like fun.

Does sound like fun. I don''t have any roger-wilco type set up, though. Wouldn''t there be a problem of everyone talking over each other?

Definitely sounds fun.

Don''t think so. I''m pretty sure they work by using channels just like in-game audio. At least, that''s how I remember my brief experience with teamspeak.

Or are you implying we have no manners and wouldn''t be able to shut up?

this sure sounds like fun, now if we can agree to not do this in the evening of your time during the week, I''d like to take part

Sounds like fun.
We should have a test session to try out the technology and see how many people are interested and all that

I''m in...just let me know time and date..

Interested in starting at a low level though....

I''d prefer Greyhawk as thats the setting I grew up playing and dont really care for Forgotten Realms..

Gentlemen, I am not able to join you in game, but I wholehartedly suggest TeamSpeak as a tool for communication. I use it daily while playing WW2 shooters, and must say that it is absolutely sufficient for any kind of comm betwen as many people as there is. It can be set to voice activation, it has mute, different channels, kick/ban if needed, input/output volume and shortcut keys for whatever commands you may need.

If you want to have really high quality sound, you may try Ventrilo, but TS will do as good a job as any other voice comm software.

Count me in for D&D or GURPS.

I''d definitely be interested. I''d personally prefer to see either new settings or some FR stuff myself, I''ve never tried Greyhawk before so I can''t really say I''d know what to do with it.

Demos out.

I would like to try this out as well. Sounds like it could be a lot of fun!

This peaks my intrest as well. I probably RPG too much ... a little more wouldn''t hurt ... right?

I have actually played a couple of games using OpenRPG. It was a lot of fun but when we tried to go to voicechat using teamspeak it kind of fell apart. We found that we tended to fall out of character a lot more over voice than we did using text. I too totally dig voice chat for most online games but in this case text actually seemed to work better for us. That said I would be up for a game, though preferably not one with a level one starting point.

Edit: One other thing that was really useful to our group was the Etools character management software.

Coming from a MUD background I envision something like this being in text format. It''s much more comfortable, imho, to roleplay behind the anonymity of text, than voice chat. Are you going to voice chat emotes, etc?

If you need a new exciting RPG to play, I recommend Quest for the Crown. It''s an online only, flash based RPG. Pretty long quest, great sound effects, riveting gameplay... and best of all, it''s free!

I have not used the E-tools excessively but off hand I think that the Redblade3.5E is a better (and free) product just for doing character generation.
