So, do you guys like hockey?

I was wondering, do you guys like watching NHL games, either live or on TV? Just curious if it's popular around here maybe we'll have some hockey threads this season. There's a pretty good game on ABC right now, Islanders vs Rangers, 3-1 Rangers halfway through the 2nd.

Yeah, nice rivalry. I love hockey, and will watch any team playing. Carolina is, of course, my favorite ;).

Hockey is my favorite spectator sport by far. Even though I live where ice is only seen in cube form, I''ll pretty much watch any game that''s on. During my elementary school years I lived outside of Philadelphia and although I was too young for the Flyers Stanley Cup victories, they''re my original team. I follow them and the Stars now.

This is a great game so far. Right after I posted the Islanders scored again, since then it''s been 3-2 Rangers, still 2:30 to go in the 3rd. Great movement and lots of hits and shots.

Go Avs!

Boooo Redwings!

You can see where the priorities are here... this thread quietly slips down the list as the NFL Division Playoffs thread has 8 replies already . All to watch a bunch of fat guys try to tackle a relatively skinny guy ;). And don''t get me started on the snoozefest that is baseball. Basketball might be relatively exciting compared with those two, but I can''t muster the enthusiasm for it.

Yeah, I used to be a regular sports fan. Then came hockey.

I''ve almost stopped watching hockey (and baseball and football) except for playoffs. This is mostly due, however, to being on the east coast and cheering for a west coast team (Calgary) and having them suck for the last six years.

I''m Canadian but my affinity for playing the Red Wings in video games has made me a long time fan of theirs. I enjoy hockey but I don''t bother with cable so I don''t see it often.

Kepheus, must make you happy now to see Calgary playing so much better.

I''m an Oilers fan. As hard as it is sometimes. <sigh> Small market teams. <big sigh>.

LOVE hockey!

I grew up in Boston during the Bobby Orr era and have been a Bruins fan for almost 35 years.

Last night I travelled to the Staples Center with a friend visiting from back east (he''s in his forties and still plays ice hockey) to see the Blue Jackets vs. Kings. We went up to the ticket window and got $115 seats for $24.50 each! Decent game, 2-2 tie. 24 oz. Coronas for $10 a pop and the food in the Fox Sports Bar (inside the SC) was a bit expensive BUT very tasty. I don''t know why we were surprised but...

Well the small market teams will either be gone next year or be relativly competative with the Sollect bargening agreement expriing in september... or we''ll have a strike/lockout and ruin the sport forever.
I still don''t think baseball has recovered. I know I don''t watch it.

Oh and I may as well mentionI''m a leafs fan. Can''t go to games much becuase of the imposibility of getting tickets. Luckly the broadcast like every game on cable

Yeah, but I miss the (late) 80''s. Great hockey, even if Edmonton did win a few too many series

Could be worse though: we could be delusional Winnipeg Jets fans. I don''t know what''s worse: Winnipegers thinking they can support an NHL franchise or people here in Halifax thinking we could support a CFL team.

Yeah but Winnipeg would support hockey alot better than Pittsburg so they may as well get a team

I''ll be amazed if Edmonton makes the playoffs this year. Its been very frustratiing. We pick up good, young talent -- develop and mature them in time for them to be traded to the better teams. We''re the farm team for the NHL it seems.

No. I don''t like hockey. Sorry. Can''t get past the bruins morons here to actually enjoy the sport.
