Did you ever walk out of a movie?

Well, you know the way it's meant. I always see people state they're doing it, but that's something I never can get myself to do even if the movie is horribly boring (Mission to Mars). For some reason I'm masochist enough to sit through the whole session since I paid for it, also somehow still hoping that it might get somewhat better at the end.

So, did you ever leave the theatre while the movie was still far from being over? Which movie(s) was/were that?

(I can see that people are leaving if a movie turns out to feature a lot more gore/violence than expected or something along those lines.)

I walked out on ""the abyss"".

And the rental equivelant of walking out of a movie, I turned off ""Anger Management"" after about 40 minutes.

I''ve turned off rentals, no problem. But yeah, for some reason I have a hard time walking out of theatres. Probably something about me putting myself into debt to get in there. I suppose, too, when in the theatre I still cling to a shred of hope that it''s not as bad as what I''m seeing. For instance, I sat through the entire mind-numbing crapfest that was Mission Impossible 2. Brainless explosions are fun and all, but Jesus Tapdancing Christ.

I walked out of ""Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas"".

I made the mistake of going to the midnight showing and the whole Benico DelTorro bathtub drug scene was enough to make me realize I should be home in bed.

I turned ""A Mighty Wind"" off 35 minutes in. I might give it another chance someday.

My parents walked out on Blade 2 because of the gore, which I completely forgot to mention. It''s like cursing in movies, I just don''t care about it so when people ask I have no idea what to tell them. So my parents stopped taking my recommendations on movies at that point.

I don''t think I''ve ever walked out on a movie but I usually try to stay picky about what I pay $7.50 to see.

The closest I came to walking out of a movie was The Crow 2 (City of Angels). I don''t think we actually walked out, but I''ve repressed memories of the event so I can''t be sure.

I turned ""A Mighty Wind"" off 35 minutes in. I might give it another chance someday.

Wait for a Special Edition DVD where they insert some humor.

I got conned into going to see Lara Croft 2. If we hadn''t been with friends I would have walked out about 15 minutes into it - right after she cut herself to lure a shark, punched it, and rode it to the surface.

My wife and I walked out of Legally Blonde 2. Wow, what a stinker.

My wife also wanted to walk out of the last Woody Allen debacle, Anything Else, and I wanted to as well, but since she chose that movie, I decided that she needed to sit all the way through it.

Negative reinforcement.

Since then, she chooses the ""chick flicks"" very carefully.

Walked out of: Three Amigos

Fell asleep in: Stargate and Aladdin

My brother and I walked out on Save the Last Dance. You may be wondering why we were even in there in the first place, and I''ll tell you that we were wondering the same thing. We were theater hopping from Saving Silverman (which we should have walked out on as well, but we were having too much fun yelling at it in a full theater to care), to Quills.

It seemed rather odd that dozens of high school girls would be watching a movie about a sleazy French writer.

Haven''t walked out on a movie, as I''m careful about what I choose to pay to go see.

My girlfriend rented Punch-Drunk Love, and as much as I wanted to like it, we ended up stopping it about forty minutes in.

I can''t recall any other notables right now, but I''ve probably repressed the memories of them.

I didn''t walk out, but when Natural Born Killers ended, I stood up and shouted ""I paid 8 bucks for this piece of sh*t?!?"" Several other people applauded me for it.

There have been two movies I''ve walked out of: Leviathan and something else. Whatever the other movie was, it was so bad the only thing I remember about it at all was walking out.

I was the only person in the theater of five people who didn''t walk out on Hellraiser IV: Bloodlines.

My wife (girlfriend at the time) stopped the video of Fargo after the cop and two bystanders got killed because she said it was ""too gory and disturbing"" but watched all of Pulp Fiction and didn''t think anything of it. She even laughed at the exploding head part.

Oh, come on, the Three Amigos was golden

I walked out of the new Exorcist special edition, mostly because my girl was too scared. Actually, I was a bit scared too, but I never mentioned it. I was just glad to go out

I really liked both The Abyss and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

I walked out of The Net (with Sandra Bullock) about 30 minutes in, and also the remake of Psycho after about 45 minutes of torture.

Fell asleep during Amelie.

Aside from getting the flu once in the middle of Tombstone and having to leave, I''ve never walked out of a movie. No matter how bad once I''ve payed and settled in I''m there to stay.

Since I''m so selective about the movies I see, I''ve never left a film at a movie theater. Once or twice, I''ve turned off a rental and quite frequently have turned away from films shown on cable.

Ever close an ICQ session?

My brother and I walked out of ""A Knight''s Tale"" after seeing the princess'' dress and hair. We started considering leaving during the ""We Will Rock You"" joust scene, but we kept hoping maybe there would be an end to that sort of thing; the princess closed the deal.

We also walked out of ""Final Destination"" after the funeral scene in the beginning. One can take only so much bad writing. I still don''t understand why one of the students on the plane would spontaneously stand and punch another student in the face. -- It is my fervent wish that with the airline paranoia following 9/11, unrealistic crap like that will be somewhat absent in future films.

I turned off Three Amigos when my parents rented it years ago. Ugh. And I have an acute tolerance for bad movies. I watched Fear.com all the way through (rental) and that''s saying something.

If I wasn''t with friends I would have walked out of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Talk about bad writing!

Fell asleep during Amelie.

How could you?! I absolutely adore that movie.

I''ve walked out of a ton of movies... I''m always suprised to hear that so many people have maybe only walked out of 1 or 2 movies in their lifetime..

I always seem to have way better things to do with my 1-2 hours than continue to sit through a bad movie.. eventually I''ll watch them in the background on HBO anyway..

My record is James Bond movies... I see everyone one of them but I''ve now walked out on 6 in a row.. They keep getting worse and worse..

Walked out on the last Star Wars movie.. right about where he kills the Sand People.. poof I was gone.

Actually as much as I enjoyed the Return of the King I was very close to walking out at the end.. the homo-eroticism was getting painful.

Come on! It''s the THREE AMIGOS! Are we talkiing about the same movie here?

Lucky Day: Well, we''re just gonna have to use our brains.
Ned Nederlander, Dusty Bottoms: Damn it!
Ned Nederlander: Sew, old woman, sew! Like the wind!

I was sleepy and it was boring?

Someday I will give it another shot, I really like the director.

I was so stoked that the made another Star Wars movie that I went to see Episode 1 a second time in the theatre.

My friends and I walked out around the ending of the underwater escape from Jar Jar''s home city.

Its the only movie I ever walked out of though I really wanted to walk out of Gremlins 2.

I walked out of ""Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Ya, that''s the one I walked out on. I don''t care for watching puke fests.

Shame on you.

I rented Made and turned it off about halfway through. Here''s my impression of the movie:

John Favreau: f*cking f*ck man, what the f*ck?
Vince Vaughan: oh, come the f*ck on, f*ck me? f*ck that! f*ck!
JF: f*ck! i mean, f*ck, f*ck f*ck!
VV: quit f*cking the f*ck with a f*ck, f*ck!

...and so on. Horrible.

Sounds like the role Gaald was born to play!

I walked out of Joe vs. the Volcano. It was on in the TV tent during the gulf war so there was no monetary investment, but wow. It was awful.

Close calls include when the girl parallel barred the raptor out of the window in the second Jurassic Park movie and the Reign of Fire helicoper pilot asking the charred dragon hunters ""what happened?""

I walked out of the original Legally Blonde after a whopping ten minutes. That was the last time I took a female to a movie that I wasn''t 100% interested in. The rest have all been rentals.

At the end of Blair Witch Project I said and I quote, ''What the f*ck?! That''s it?! I WANT MY DAMN MONEY BACK!''

Edit: Whooping is significantly different in meaning from whopping. Apparently, my spelling has degraded considerably while on deployment.
