Where Education needs more funding

I just moved to AZ and registered for classes today. To take 12 units is going to cost me about $1,500 more since I'm out of state. I really wish I could get that back (some %) on my taxes. I have to pay more for a year just because I'm out of state.

ASU needs to fix that!

Well congratulations on the move. Awww, Wisconsin will miss you I''m certain! Anyway, I do know what you mean. I''d have had a much more difficult time graduating if my wife hadn''t established our residency here in Minnesota before I could ever apply. Still, if it makes you feel any better, what with double digit tuition increases for the forseeable future, by 2008 or so, what your paying now is what Arizona in-state people will be paying.

Hey, Ulairi, I''ll trade my student loans for law school for your education tution.

Law school? If it were any other school I would.

Hey I''ve got 40k in loans from an Art and Technology college you can have. Only had to take 3 years there too with transfer credits.

Where education needs more funding? EVERYWHERE!

$40,000? Wow...yikes....

You know, study after study has shown that per capita expenditure has no impact on the performance of the students. The government has spend more money each and every year and the real knowledge level of students graduating high school is lower each and every year.

This is not a federal problem. It is a local issue, taken over by the Federal government for political reasons.

So at what point does it become a federal problem?

It shouldn''t be a federal issue at all. The federal government shouldn''t be involved, other than to perhaps set national guidelines.

Education should be a state and local controlled issue.

The government should cut my taxes because I''m moving out of state to go to school! I want lower taxes.

Christ. Never have I been happier for our lovely education system. Free university studies.

Hey, come to Georgia where Johnny Mojo and I live and you can have free public university tuition in exchange for a ""b"" average.

Yahooo!!!

Georgia isn''t exactly a ""think tank"" so it''s not much of a hurdle.
