Taxes sucks!

Under my new job, 27% of my income will go to the government. That is too high!

I think I should pay about 20% of my income to the government. (All levels) Unless we're in total war.

Do you think you pay too much taxes? Not enough? How much of your income do you think should go to taxes?

Well.. In Mexico, the company I work for pays about 47% taxes total every month... So I don''t think you have it so bad.

It''s worse since you KNOW they end up in corrupt politician''s pocketsses.

you pay that much? Ouch.

Wow, I just felt a whole lot better about living in America. Thanks Mex!

If you don''t pay that much in taxes, Ulairi, how will we be able to afford the new drug prescription plan and the increased child care credit? Stop being so selfish. Other people deserve your money more than you do. Now get back to work.

I''m not in a even-handed state of mind today. I''ll simply say that I''m glad the value of our culture is greater than a measure of accumulated personal wealth.

Warning! Warning! You have triggered the ""Rat Boy Irony Alarm!"" Warning! Warning!

I live in Canada, you can all go to hell. Except you Mex, you''re already half-way there with the rest of us Canadians

I saw nice message in the subway the other day"… "Work hard because millions on welfare depend on you!" I don't know but that kind of killed the mood for me of coming to work that day"… eeh!

I do not mind a safety net. I just don''t like Robert ""sheets"" Bird and people like him wasting billions on pork.

Every party has a guy they don''t want to represent them but they end up doing it anyway. The Republicans would just love to sweep Joe McCarthy under the rug, Anne Coulter notwithstanding.

That wasn''t my point. Most of them spend billions on pork. I was naming the person best at. It is not my fault he was in the clan.

The thing about the safety net is that it hurts immigration. And so for example, for every 1 chinese person they let into the country, they keep 14 out. The safety net is maintained through a progressive taxation system, and as such, requires that there be a good amount of rich people to take money from, and a small amount of poor people to give money to. Thus, the natives of industrialised countries are usually more anti-immigrant than the natives of developing countries. Europe, while being very socialistic and welfare heavy, is essentially an impenetrable fortress when it comes to immigration. Natives, no matter the ideology, leftwing or rightwing, always put enormous restrictions on immigration for economic protectionist reasons. Simply put, they believe foreigners do not deserve equal opportunity, or the individual freedom and right, to pursue jobs within their countries.

So leftwingers strive for a more welfare heavy country, which makes people anti-immigrant because immigrants will increase welfare demand. Rightwingers are anti-immigrant, believing that Americans should give jobs to Americans, individual freedom be damned. They want big government to give them social protection against ""job stealing foreigners"". The exceptions would be anarchists, communists and Libertarian party members. (commies want to destroy all nations)

With me being a poor student... I actually receive money from the government

My dad returns about 60% of his wages to the government though.

Which is funny, Sideswipe, because I don''t know a single Republican (or many Democrats for that matter) who would want one of the jobs these immigrants are ''stealing''.

An interesting perspective on the situation, though.

Anyone below the poverty line should be drafted into the military.
Then, we could send out more troops to take vital resources and controll them for powerful corporations.

Hey, its fun not being in an ''even-handed state of mind''!

I like that plan Yomm, then when the space bugs show up well be prepared.

""What''s a matter Chico/Wang/Sean/Gunter/Boris, you wanna live forever?""

Apologies to all foreign countries anywhere, I figured itd be better if I insulted them all at the same time, to balance things out.

ps. All Canadians are named Sean

Ahhh Pyro that last post had me rolling around on the floor!

I was just picturing all of us here in GWJ in Starship troopers gear with Elysium going ""frag out"" and dropping grenades at our feet!

ps. All Canadians are named Sean

Certis - Canadian - Shawn
Elysium - American - Sean

When Stereotypes Go Bad!

And Ze Germans are all called Hans. Funny thing is I indeed know someone whose last name is Hans. Funny enough, he gets called by that name only :).

Ulairi: You are lucky off. In Germany you usually pay the same amount you pay for taxes to the social system. So I end up paying 44% of my income to the state. I stopped looking at my payroll and just look at what ends up on my bank account these days :(.

Come on Ulairi I mean do you really think this is the appropriate forum for this? I mean if you really wanted to post the ''I am single and making between $27,950 and $67,700 maybe you should try lavalife.com
