Why I Like Blair

More than Bush. Whether I agree with him or not, I truly believe (and belief is a subjective opinion) that he's genuinely motivated to do what is right. I believe Bush says he's motivated to do what is right, but I don't for a second actually get that impression of him. I don't think, for example, that Bush would have said:

Blair told The Sun newspaper that he had been ready to quit if he was defeated in last month's vote authorising military action by rebel members of parliament in his own Labour party.

"In the end, it is a decision you put the whole of the premiership on the line for," he told Britain's top-selling tabloid.

"It was always possible that you could be in that situation. But the point is that some people are going to die as a result of your decision," he said.

"In the end if you lose your premiership, well you lose it. But at least you lose it on the basis of something that you believe in," he said.

He''s a great speaker, too. Great accent and all. Have you guys seen his love music video with Bush?

""Screw you guys! I''m going home!""

Music Video? Im intrigued.

And he''s going to be on The Simpsons! No other world leader could claim that level of coolness.

I dont know, being on The Simpsons now just seems sorta tacky to me, considering how much they suck. However, it is still very cool. He needs to be on Conan.

Yeah, back then it was really funny. It was a great episode too, Bush acted like Mr. Wilson to Bart''s Dennis the Menace.

It wasn''t actually Bush Sr. I think it was Harry Shearer''s voice.

It was. No way in hell either Bush would do the show.

Why not? Besides the Bush family being a cover for Satan and that Property is theft.

Are you fogetting the ""Should be more like the Waltons than the Simpsons"" bit? Besides, I don''t think Dubya is that into television and Hollywood. And H-Dub is too busy doing documentaries on WWII and the Gulf War for The History Channel.

I''m 20. I don''t remember the first Bush that much.

Well, in addition to Dan Quayle trying to tear Murphy Brown a new one, George H.W. Bush in one of his family-values type speeches said that American families ""should be more like the Waltons and less like the Simpsons.""

And just like Murphy Brown, the Simpsons responded as only they could: in front of one of their episodes about a month later, a small segment ran where the family was sitting in front of the TV watching Bush deliver the remarks. Bart replied, ""We''re just like the Waltons: we''re both waiting for the Depression to be over.""

I''m 23 too and I''ve been taking the traditional ""young guy"" position in most of the debates.

What does that mean?

He means you usually take the position of a 40 year old cranky conservative who wants those damn kids off his lawn. I think.

I guess it explains a lot that you don''t remember the other bush... Any of you remember him barfing on a Japanese minister?

Oh, and here''s the blair/bush/endless love video.

I''m not a conservative. I''m more of a Libertarian (I guess). If you mean being young and a useful idiot, then I''m glad I''m not. That and I''m an economics major...we''re smarter than the rest of you!

Just to make it clear I''m not calling anyone here a useful idiot.

Don''t worry, Ulairi. I wasn''t confused.

No one''s ever called me useful.

I win, I''m 19.
But I''ll be 20 on July 4.

Hey, Ulairi I''m a political science major, that makes me cooler.
Oh, and I do take the traditional 40 year old conservative position on most issues; in Texas everyone my age does.

I win, I''m 17.
But I''ll be 18 on April 23.

Okay, that music video was the best thing ever. I love you Mex!

Would you noisy damn kids quiet down, I just turned 33!!!

That means you''re going to become a Lawyer and that makes you evil.

A lawyer, or more likely a Senator. Watch for the honorable Senator Lynch from Texas in about ten years.

Hey at least tech will have someone on it''s side inside the Beltway. I''ll make damn sure the DMCA goes away and never returns.

I don''t mind as long as I profit from it.
