Quote of the Day - 4/13/03

"It'll take time to restore chaos out of order..." - President George W. Bush

Thats about right....

and this man is the leader of the most powerful nation in the world!!!

Scary!

Listen, guys. You''re being way too critical of an obvious single blunder. You can''t indict a person simply because he didn''t say precisely what he meant once. This would only be a problem if it was a part of a frightening pattern.

1. Bush isn''t a great speaker. No one will argue against that.
2. Only simple minded people would think you judge someones smarts based on their speaking ablity. Anyone who''s researched it knows that many times someone''s lack in one area is made up for in others.
3. Bush is a horrible speaker and I wish Tony Blair could do all the talking.
4. Bush is most likely Dyslexic. As someone who has Dyslexia I can speak from experiance that many times people think I''m an idiot because of it.

So bottom line: Is Bush an idiot? I don''t know I have never talked to the man. Should people assume he''s an idiot based on his speaking ablitiy? No.

Can Bush speak? No.

Should the President of the United States be able to express himself clearly?

A: Yes.

Did I ever talk about that? No. I just stated that someone''s IQ has nothing to do with their speaking ablitiy. I agree with you. To be a good President (and leader in general) you must be a great public speaker.

Baby, let''s not fight!

I never said anything (in this thread) about his IQ. I think it''s notable that the linked site isn''t only a host of dyslexic foibles, but a conglomeration of mis-speak. I particularly like the one where Bush identifies the Executive branch of government as the one that makes the laws. How that could be dyslexia, I''ll never know, BUT that''s not my point.

In fact, we agree on my point that the President should be a good public speaker. So let''s join our voices into a rousing chorus, put down these sabres that we rattle so furtively at one another and Sing. Sing. Sing!

I agree. I hear he''s really good at eating pretzels.

Ah yes, like the pretzel thing has never been covered before I wouldn''t necessarily denounce Bush''s apparant inability to coherently express sentences containing more than three words as stupidity though. Maybe its all just a sly political ploy, tricking the people into believing that Bush is just as stupid as them and therefore must be an honest man, just like your average American

One wonders how he''ll do in the next series of presidential debates.

Hay, Im not stoopid.

It must kill you that the stupidaverageamerican is able to beat your country when it comes to economic power, military power, etc. I hope we stay stupid.

This is why I hate people. Attack someone on policy. I''ve chocked on a hot wing before and had to spend four hours in the ER. Ever have anything go down the wrong pipe? Same thing.

Give a Neanderthal a M-16 and a charge card, he is still a Neanderthal.

People have been saying that Americans are stupid for hundreds of years. It''s nothing new. Good, bad, we''re the guys with the guns.

I was hoping you would see my sarcasm through my absolute butchering of the words ""hey"" as ""hay"" and ""stupid"" as ""stoopid"".

Once again, the internet fails me...

Okay *obscure Blood II reference passes by (though I believe it originates from a ''better'' source)* time to pack up and leave this thread

And scoli, I got it! *cough*innuendosensitiveeuropean*cough* damn I must have contracted teh aids or something, coughing away like mad

I give up. Sarcasm escapes me when in written form unless it is absolutely blatant such as Candied.

Hay, you could always try to join up in stone-dry & unhumorous flamewars if that would prevent you from feeling stoopid

Naw, that would simply kill my brain cells. 8)

Mis-speak bad. Lie good. Lie in the courts even better!

Wow, I''d like some fries with that order of assumptions.

Hey hey, I must''ve won. It''s my firmly held belief that when discussing the strengths or weaknesses of Dubya, when you finally push someone to the point of randomly introducing Clinton''s scandal into the conversation, it is a defacto win.

Now, where''s my trophy?

It must kill you that the stupidaverageamerican is able to beat your country when it comes to economic power, military power, etc.

Why do you always bring that up as an excuse?

This is why I hate people.

But I love you so much! Oh, it was a joke, lighten up.

Mis-speak bad. Lie good. Lie in the courts even better!

A philanderer being judged by philanderers is the best then! Oh Im sorry it happened several years before the philandering in question. I guess there''s a statute of limitations on philandering when it favors one side.

Pointing fingers and accusations regarding someones personal life and hovering zealously is highly moral too.

For moral and religious people they must have skipped over ""Judge not lest ye be judged yourself"" in bible class. I guess they messed up the translation of ""Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone"" to say ""Let Compassionate Conservatives cast every stone, for liberal means evil.""

Clinton is slime. Anyone who cheats on their wife is slime.

That''s all I have to say about that.

Then how did slime beat George H.W. Bush, war hero? Or Bob Dole, the epitomy of American values?

I don''t care about how he won. That has nothing to do with it. I don''t think we should call someone who has cheated on his wife multiple times anything other than slime.

Well, I guess Bob Barr is slime then.
