Hail to the Chief

Today George Dubya Bush flew into visit my little country. A lot of people were surprisingly unhappy about him coming here as there were 5 bombscares around Belfast and what is normally a ten minute journey to work turned into an hour and a half ordeal.

I'm always amazed at something the size of Air Force One coming into land at our relatively small international airport. Security is just amazingly tight here and that's saying something from a country with Police and Army on patrol most of the time.

It's nice to see American presidents visit here as it's rare that anyone wants to visit this part of the world still despite the outbreak of "peace" over the last couple of years.

Come visit Northern Ireland, Cold Guinness ones for all!

Were they from anti-war protestors?

Guinness? Count me in

Coincidentally, I am coming to visit Northern Ireland next month. My dad is obsessed with Ireland, and feels that just becuase he is related to Bobby Sands he has some need to go over there every 6 months. Not that I have a big problem with that, I mean hey, free trip. 8)

Were they from anti-war protestors?

Nope, From various terrorist groups unhappy that Bush is supporting the ""occupying"" British and Tony Blair.

People seem to forget that there still are terrorist groups in N. Ireland.

Yes, unfortunately this is the case, Its not as vicious or as public as it used to be but they''re still there killing each other and dealing out ""Punishment"" shootings or beatings to those who have broken their unwritten laws, or whoever they see as ""Antisocial elements"".

It''s not like Israel mind you and you''d be very unlucky to get caught up in anything so come visit!

You should also be grateful that Ariel Sharon isn''t the PM of the UK.

Believe you me Rat Boy, some of our local Politicians and their rhetoric make Saddam and other looney charcters look like calm reasonable members of society! It''s amazing how two of the big political parties here are still ""Legitimate"" wings of terrorist organizations.

We should be thankful that Ariel Sharon and Yassir Arafat are not in charge of either country.
