Guilty Pleasures (Music)

There are so many songs like this for me, I don't even know where to start. :/

I must preface this by saying that my musical taste runs the gamut of Rock, Pop, Reggae, Classical, Jazz, Tecno, Game Music, Christian Chant, really anything but Country. That said, there are a few guilty pleasures in there. One of the more embarassing ones (mostly from the distant past) is:

"I Touch Myself" (The Divinyls)

Just try to top that one. Because if you do, I will probably find something even guiltier.

I have also recently been listening to a lot of Evanesance, but don't feel guilty about it. Garbage is awesome and nothing to feel guilty about.

I'm currently enjoying Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds :)

I like a bunch of Justin Timberlake's songs, too. He's benefited greatly from fantastic producers. Although, for me its not a guilty pleasure. I just don't feel guilt as an emotion. Ever.

"The Devil Went Down to Georgia" (The Charlie Daniels Band)

I despise country music, except for this song. I even like the Primus cover of this song and I'm not a fan of Primus. Although I mostly like it because of the music video which was done by some of the guys that worked on the move "The Nightmare Before Christmas"

I have been listening to the latest albums from both Winger and Scorpions. I like them both more than I would have expected.

I think Billy Ocean is one of the coolest men alive. He is still alive isn't he?

I know, man. I know.

Oh, my poo-r poo-r Stoo-urt!

"Gonna Make You Sweat", C&C Music Factory. Yes, I'm a closet disco fan.

I'd also say anything by the Cure, but that's hardly a *guilty* pleasure. Right? RIGHT? You know you love it!

Current guilty pleasures:

AFI, the last Blink 182 disc, Jem, and Anna Nalick.

Thankfully the latest Linkin Park disc is awful so I don't have to list them in here anymore.

I saw an ad yesterday for a new MxPx CD coming out this month. It took an act of will.

A lot of people are posting on this thread without really ponying up.

My roommate has a secret love of Avril Lavigne's music. I feel guilty for knowing him. Does that count?

I have the intro songs from MULE, Archon, and Alternate Reality: The Dungeon in my regular playlist. Should I feel guilty?

The last three CDs I purchased were all guilty pleasures: Kelly Clarkson's "My December", Maroon 5's "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" and Mandy Moore's "Wild Hope". While I'd like to think that my love of Rush, Dream Theater and Megadeth balances out my pop addiction, I get the sinking feeling that not all the prog/metal in the world could restore my cred after I've purchased a Mandy Moore album.

I have Gwen Stefani's Love.Angel.Music.Baby, Avril's Complicated, and Clarkson's Since You Been Gone in my playlist. I'm guessing those qualify.

I once burned a copy of my then-girlfriends little sisters Shakira CD.

So I guess I'm guilty of listening to Shakira AND copyright infridgement.

That's it. Let it all out. You'll all feel better in the end.

MMMBop.

There, I said it.

Yes! We have a breakthrough!

Ooh, that's pretty bad.

Ouch.

I'm not ashamed of listening to Shakira. I think it's perfectly acceptable to listen to the music of your dream woman.

Fed thinks I should be embarrassed for listening to Aerosmith's Big Ones this past weekend. I disagree, especially as I could have listened to something newer by them. In fact, I could have listened to Eat the Rich. I could have done that. Where would we be then, Fed? Hm?

Nice one. The first time I saw one of the members of Hanson on TV I thought, "In a few years she'll be hot."

I can top that.

Yanni.

I don't think it counts if you're trying too hard.

Where's Dhelor and his Enya love?

But...I've got like six of his albums! I haven't listened to them in probably ten years, though, so maybe that doesn't count.

I love Enya.

Ugh. I was working in a mall at a Waldenbooks when those "boys" were at their peak. My days were filled with teenage girls coming into the store to buy Hanson and Spice Girl related books while the music played on the mall's PA system every 20 minutes.

Then again, I've been known to listen to Celtic Woman CDs, so who am I to judge?

The cover band I'm in plays this song. People go crazy for it. I always feel dirty when we are finished.

Dude. That's worse than Yanni.
