Nuclear non-proliferation?

http://www.newscientist.com/news/new...

Hmm This seems like a interesting topic, seeing as how we're about to go to war partly because of weapons of mass destruction and especially as it flies in the face of the nuclear non proliferation treaty. I'd like to hear everyones opinions on this.

Why do we insist on developing weapons that could easily end all life on Earth?

I have no problem with conventional warfare, it''s a necessary evil. I just don''t think that we should contaminate the land with radiation for a century or two...

I think that's the idea... nothing more fearsome then the unknown which is presented by the end of existence! However I do support the idea to reinvent the basic weapon... the sword! "…then we all play a part in Braveheart!

Well don''t hold up high hopes, bunker-buster nukes are practically the only way of penetrating those deeply buried bunkers-o-doom. Maybe we could invest some money in developement of thermobaric weapons but those are basically just was ''WMD''-like as Nukes only without the radiation.

The problem is that people get documents from the military and our military has documents for a lot of things. I''ve not made up my mind on this yet.

Well I guess using these weapons will surely defeat any enemy, problem is that a lot of countries will see at as an excuse and opportunity to use/obtain them for theirselves.

You were surprised by this? I thought US of A''s handling of the Kyoto accord made it plain to everyone that this admistration doesn''t give a sh*t about any promises made by previous administrations if it didn''t work in thier favor.

Welcome to the new Melenium folks I hope you all enjoy it!

That Kyoto Accord that Clinton didn''t sign when he had the chance? Or any nation other than Romania didn''t sign when Bush killed it? The Kyoto Accord is garbage and should never have been signed by an American president.

Take off the glasses.
