Nooooooooo! How could a writer wish that much terrible prose on the world? ;-)

Welcome to the internet; you must be new here.

I'd like to take this opportunity to point to Elysium and Rob as "exhibits 1 and 2" in the argument that Westerners often do not understand the iconography and culture behind anime and JRPGs.

Yep. I totally agree with this. It's 100% true. Almost across the board I don't get it.

Love you Sands!

Oh wait, we're talking about JRPGs, what I meant to say was:

So, in all seriousness:

One of the things I love about being ON the conference call is that we have such massively divergent tastes. It happens that we got into JRPGs when the set of folks on the call were the set least likely to represent. I imagine a discussion of Flight Sims without me on it, or a discussion of Formula 1 without Rob on it would have gone down a similar path.

We (Certis, really, if we're being honest) decided about 100 episodes ago that we didn't need a cast, we needed a stable. This was both a practical issue (its super hard to get the exact same 3-4 people in the room at exactly the same time on 3 time zones for 200-300 episodes) but also a strategic one. There are folks who send hate mail when I'm on, there are folks who send hate mail when Lara's on, and so on. By keeping the cast somewhat fluid, we manage to keep things loose, and hopefully, interesting from week to week.

All that said, we perhaps should have held a JRPG specific email for a week when we felt someone was going to be the stalwart.

There are folks who send hate mail when I'm on

I'm sorry that I keep doing that, by the way.

Many games get recommended when listener questions are answered. Since those aren’t included in the show summary on the web site, here’s a list of the games and links that got recommended in this week’s episode.

Jetpack Joyride

FIFA Soccer, Console

Uncharted Series

Lots of JRPG slamming. Here are ones that got a little love. Please excuse spelling errors or incorrect links. It’s not my genre, either.

The World Ends with You
Final Fantasy
Shin Megami Tensei
