It's an effective trailer because it manipulates. Like it or don't. But people aren't stupid for having responses to it.

I don't mind "cheap" emotions in media, so long as they're carried forward and used. I freely admit that this makes me a sap.

Not ironic at all. It just means the show represents a range of opinions. The CC is not one voice.
