This weekend, I bought my wife an iPad. I can tell you that Plants vs. Zombies is extremely intuitive. The thing is basically my wife's portable computer. We're going to get the keyboard dock next. I can't wait to see what cool games we discover. Now I have to go back and re-listen to the podcast and pay good attention to that discussion.

I have a 28 month old daughter who LOVES the whack-a-zombie level from Plants vs. Zombie on iphone/ipad. She also loves harvesting the sun when my wife or I play. She also loves simple matching and pattern games.I have a feeling, small interactive introductions like this are going to go a long way towards informing her interests and skills at picking such things up.

I am very heartened by the fact that she displays laser-like focus when playing these games and when "reading." Sitting with her and reading to her, or allowing her to "read" the stories herself is amazing, and I hope bodes well for a inquisitive girl with a love of reading.

Starfall for the reading win!

I have Starseige: Tribes and Nine Inch Nails The Fragile Right CD inexorably linked in my head. Particularly the level with the two floating bases and the song "Complication". As that was pretty much on loop the entire time. Every time I hear that song I picture heavy armor mortar jumping all over the place.
