I had a feeling you'd have Jeff on, and I was hoping you would after the sad, sad news. I'm sorry for your loss Mr Green *sniffle*.

So how much of Jeff did you lose?

Great show, and great editing - I wouldn't have noticed you'd lost a chunk if you hadn't pointed it out before the show, except by the running length. Good stuff.

You don't have hydrogen power over there in the US?!?! Get with the programme guys.

Brilliant show. Geoff is a great and makes me laugh on all the podcasts he does. Hope all the GFW staff land fine new jobs.

Glad you mentioned the Lost discussions. I also have to skip them as I'm in the UK and watching them via box set and I'm not 100% sure I'm going to get a spoiler warning. (My two favourite spoiler warning styles (not from GWJ or GFW) 1. "Spoiler warning he dies." 2. "and it turns out it's all a dream.... spoiler warning, I guess.")

I skip the Lost stuff too, but that's because I don't watch the show and thus don't find it interesting. Sadly that actually shaves fifteen minutes off of some of those podcasts.

I got lost with Lost after the first episode, where the best part of the show for me was when the bloke got sucked into the engine.

But in any case, this podcast was very good, Geoff brought a lot and I wish him all the best with the GFW podcast venture. Fair play.

Listening to the podcast, it sounds as though the part that got borked included Jeff talking about the shuttering of the magazine. Shame. Good show, though.

I wish we could hear the lost part. Like, the part where you guys talk about GFW.

Anyway, good job getting the show out despite technical difficulties. And I must say, Elysium sounded particularly sharp on this one.

Great show. I'm really interested to see how your impressions of GTA change or strengthen with GTA IV. Also, will you be playing on xbox360 or PS3? If on the 360 don't forget to add GWJ GTA IV Clan to your friends list so we can all hook up for some Cops and crooks action.

Is it possible to get a synopsis of the missing bits.

There is a huge part I missed I think.... all the questions to Jeff Green of course...
I really was looking forward to his answers on some good questions that ppl
posed in the thread for that.

We tend to break the show recording into thirds: the games you can play section, the "topic of the week" and the email/close stuff. We take breaks and such in between.

Guess which segment got whacked by evil gremlins. We're just lucky Rob rescued what he could out of it.

Shenanigans!

I'll put on the tinfoil hat here. I think those gremlins were summoned from Julian's basement to strategically swallow that second segment.

  • Maybe, Mr. Jeff Green did not hold back on some comments regarding the magazine closure and found it wise to not have them float out on the internets.
  • Maybe the yoga retreat did not bring him to his center, but instead kindled the rage and frustration into 45 minute tired that just ruined everyone's day.
  • Maybe, the yoga retreat got Jeff really emo and in touch with himself that he just started crying on air. Then, everyone started crying, apologizing for random comments, and Certis admitted he was wrong all along about Portal and played through the entire game again with tears in his eyes.

I'm really bored at work.

Regardless, solid show as always, even if it did feel abbreviated. Great editting, too, Rob.

Oh man. Now Jeff Green thinks I'm a stoner. That was not what I was going for.

But great answers, guys! Thanks!

To answer my own question, I would definitely be a shop owner. No one ever gets mad at them, and they get to benefit the most from all the loot the PCs drag back to town with them. If it were WoW, I'd own a shop in some dwarven outpost, so I could use my money to buy beer and dull the pain of sitting there for eternity.

If it were another game, I think I'd set up my shop in one of the oriental villages in Titan Quest. Pretty scenery and I love the soundtrack.

Anyway, thanks again! Great show, even without the meat of the GFW magazine thing.

If it makes you feel better, his answers were extremely forthcoming, very informative and very intelligent. Honestly I feel like a stronger and smarter man just for having heard what he had to say.

... that probably doesn't make you feel better, does it?

Great question Mont.

I'm going to have to go with G-Man, if that counts; because I would have all the answers.

I guess that is the more positive approach Better this then nothing at all of course
Just invite him again He won't mind

Yes and no Jeff Green has a way of putting things
At least you guys had a great time, I am sure! Perks of the job.

It's like Elysium got a look into the Pulp Fiction suitcase and just can't/won't tell us what's in there.

You guys would have gotten away with it if Rob didn't blab about it at the beginning.

Hmm, with some creative editing... you could have mix the past show (Conference Call Ep.49) and GFW Radio and rebuild Conference Call Ep.80 as if nothing happened!

It's possible but the episode sounded strange to me with the missing section and I thought hmmm, we should probably mention we had problems with the episode.

It's a flaw of mine I guess, I am very picky when it comes to the show and when I feel something is wrong I try my best to fix it. I couldn't this time around, so I wanted to post the blurb for those that might have noticed.

I am glad you all seem to have enjoyed what we were able to put up.

His send off blip was missing some context but other than that, we wouldn't have noticed anything missing.

I'll be sure to visit the PC Hub over at 1Up. Its the least we can all do for a kindred spirit.

Rob, we love you being picky.
I did sound board and editing in highschool and can easily pick up edit spots in most podcasts. It's hard in GWJ.
Keep up the picky.

There is, just not in Thailand.

I know what your thinking, but I didn't do it.

Just give us the summary of the missing parts, and we'll call you cured. I mean, you were taking meticulous notes throughout the entire conversation were you not?

Aaaargh!

Glad you guys are taking up the GTA IV challenge, though I renting it may not be giving it a fair shake I envisioned. It's a lot easier to detach oneself from a rental than it is from a purchase. Given that I don't like the series, for myself I know a rental would be too easy to shove back in the sleeve and return after an hour than a purchase would be.

My goal is to get to 10 hours to consider it a fair shake. As always, YMMV.

p.s. Given the recent loud complaints about GameFly not delivering games, where will you all rent it from?

HAHA hilarious show as usual. The NPC question was genius.

I'd like to be the Resident Evil 4 vendor. "What are ya sellin? What are ya buyin?"

And if WoW had a Gnome Bong my character could toke...I may just start playing it again
