GWJ Conference Call Episode 77

Rainbow Six Vegas 2, The Graveyard, Taking Games For Serious Reals, A New Audio Sponsor, Your Emails and more!

This week we dig deep into what happens when we dig deep into our gaming and our groups. Elysium expresses his love for living under Shawn's iron rule, DoomMunky sponsors Games You Can Play Now and Rob ... says stuff. I think. So does Julian.

I'm not sure what the correct term is these days, but you're all nerds. That is, you're all the kind of people known for taking unpopular things more seriously than most. I'm part of it, too: I played, beat, and enjoyed both Battlestations: Midway and King's Quest: Mask of Eternity. I even purchased and enjoy the Burger King games. (There. It feels good to get that off my chest.)

The "Gamers With Real Jobs" segment, while totally awesome, hit a little too close to home.

Right there with you. Frankly, my lack of free time is a big part of why I'm not as into games (especially RP) as I formerly was. Certainly I could make time, but at the end of the work day I don't tend to have that much emotional energy left.

It's probably a good thing, though, as I had previously experimented in not only Diplomacy and historical miniatures, but also in LARP.

I have trouble even typing that acronym anymore.
