GWJ Conference Call Episode 61

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Rock Band Part 2, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect Finished, Game Advertisements & Reviews, Mental Modding, Your Emails and more!

After all the hoopla surrounding Gamespot, reviews and what's right in this crazy old world, we dig into the issues. We also follow up on some of the best games this year and you can FEEL the hubris as Elysium brags about playing Rock Band while Canadians are left out in the cold. What he doesn't know at the time of this recording is that his Xbox 360 is about to deliver three red rings of joy.

I'm just glad that Gaald found a game that he enjoys without reservation. Way to go, man!

I am not trying to blow sunshine up your skirts, but little feedback on your reviews is a good thing. The style of your reviews and discussion is always very conversational and you guys back up your statements well. It is fantastic that you make them clearly opinions as opposed to "I'm a reviewer for a major website/magazine and I have this thing down to an empirical science so what I state is absolute fact".

I enjoy the positive tone of your reviews and you guys are very "mature" in that you can enjoy a game and appreciate its good qualities without always having to directly throw it in a ladder next to other games. This is what I find refreshing about the style of the podcast and your articles. You guys act more like storytellers less like a comparison shopping site. The ability to enjoy games on their merits is what I like in reviews. I do not read reviews exclusively to find out which is the best FPS for Christmas.

Gaald: Seconded on the love for "Rise of the Videogame" And, sadly, I think there are only two episodes. There is a whole series of "Rise of" shows, but I think only two on games.

I have to wait to play Orange Box until Spring..

Weak sauce, my friends, weak sauce.
