The PS3 and the Wii have launched, leaving Shawn and Rob to lead the hands-on impressions while Rabbit and Elysium weep quietly. Resistence: Fall of Man, Wii Sports, Motorstorm and more from that! Gears of War multiplayer is dissected, Guitar Hero 2 is brought down a peg, Neverwinter Nights 2 is endorsed and Shawn has a few things to say about the latest PC Gamer podcast. Things get a bit ... tense.

Yeah, when I listened to that PC Gamer podcast the other day I sort of deleted it from itunes. It was like being attacked by earwigs of stupid.
Good show, guys.

I had so much fun playing Wii Sports on Sunday with my friends that my arm was freekin' sore on Monday! I'm completely in love with the l'il tyke. Hell, my 56 year old room mate is in love with the sucker and he doesn't play video games at all. I busted him for playing Zelda all night long while I was at my French class!

Quick note: GH2 Pro Versus mode can be unlocked by beating the game on medium as well.

I guess, I'm the only one that actually enjoyed NWN1.

That PC Gamer stunt makes the Smash the PS3 bit seem sublime by comparison.

Good show, guys! I"ve got serious wii envy now.

I've definitely caught the Wii bug too. I'm itching to buy one as fast as I can.

"Whatever Sony did, kudos to them."

Sony managed to get it nice and quiet by having the drive spin at only 2x. Kudos indeed.

Not sure if you are trying to be sarcastic here, however the noise Certis was talking about is fan noise. The 360 has a fairly loud fan, Sony has found a way to make their fan noise practically non existent. I have to admit that is one thing they seem to have done right. Of course if systems start to fail on mass because of heat issues than I'll have to take those kudos back.

Isn't one of the PS3's features the ability to install to the hard drive?

Color me tickled.

Rabbit, I'm going to have to disagree with you about cover versus mobility. Mobility is life. Cover is death. Gaald, I completely understand what your'e talking about with the cover system. Some very valid tactics are rendered unweildy at best by game mechanics.

Touche Danjo. I think it's all playstyle, and both work.

Finally found some time to listen -- getting a little worried that I won't be able to get my hands on a Wii before Xmas.

I also got an opportunity to try GoW yesterday and loved the cover system. This from someone who's a bit of a PC FPS snob. It has an excellent arcade-feel to it -- quick rounds, flashy kills, yum.
