March 25 – March 29

BioShock Infinite comes out tomorrow. I don't have anything more to say on that topic.

In fact, the temptation to just write that first sentence and call it a morning was nearly overwhelming, but as inconceivable as it may be to me, it's possible others of you are thinking about something else this week. For example, A new Army of Two comes out this week, as well as the newest version of Tiger Woods. There's also some movement on the Indie front with Machinarium hitting the Vita, Slender: The Arrival's release on PC and Terraria hitting XBLA and PSN.

It's just nice to be back in the swing of normalcy after a long weekend in Boston at PAX. I don't come home feeling quite as blown out as I normally do, more a happy, manageable exhausted. All three panels I had the honor to be associated with, I felt, went very well, though the GWJ panel will always be nearest and greatest in my heart. Jeff Green and Justin McElroy did exactly what they were supposed to do which is be funny and charming and the deserved stars of the show. And, of course, the reason to go to PAX is to meet or hang out again with all of you guys. As is often the case I didn't do that enough, but if you came up to me and said hi -- or in one case was instigated to tackle me lovingly from behind -- then thank you. Honestly, that's the stuff that makes my year.

For now, my next few days are all about decompression and obscene amounts of BioShock playtime.

Army of Two was robbed!

Infinite is pre-loaded, might grab Dungeon Hearts (or at least wishlist it) too since I had a good time with it at PAX East.

Damn it! I seem to be in a "zero will power" phase of game buying. It always bodes ill for my wallet. Bioshock pre-loading...

Pre-loaded and ready to go. This is one of those rare games where I feel compelled to play on release in order to avoid spoilers and before all the meme's beat things to death.

Meatbag, would you kindly tell me that this cake is a lie?

I used to beat people to death with meme's. Then I took an arr...

...I can't bring myself to finish that sentence.

Anyhoo. Glad to see Infinite seems to be one of those rare games that doesn't need to be hand (wing?) delivered by messenger pigeon across the ocean and is, in fact, releasing tomorrow in the UK.

Pre-loaded and ready.

Is Tiger Woods not out on Wii or Wii U?

Granted I didn't get last year and even sold away TW12 for Wii since I never played much. But the Wii version, with all courses included, was always a much better deal than the PS3/360, where they wanted you to buy an extra $100 worth of DLC courses to get the complete game.

You know, I didn't realise that FFXI was still a thing.

Bioshock will be preloading at bed time. Tomorrow is a good day; new car, new Bioshock. I may have to draw a chart to divide my time effectively.

Woo-hoo Infiite! I think I'm actually going to buy a new release and play it within a week for the first time since, uhhh Gears 3? I'll be headed home for Easter and it's just the nuclear family. When I went home for Thanksgiving, I had a ton of downtime. Hopefully my parents don't think it's rude when I bring my 360 as a stowaway.

I'll eventually buy Army of Two 3 to play through it with my college co-op buddy. He's got his heart set on playing RE:6 together and this could be an acceptable replacement. I'm not particularly fond of Army of Two though, hopefully I can talk to him into waiting for a significant discount.

EDIT: Also, great work Sean Sands. Lesser men may have skimped due to PAX burnout. You had to account energy lost from PAX, jet lag, and Tubby Smith today.

With all the pre-loading talk, I feel like I'm the only one buying Bioshock Infinite on console. I played Bioshock on Xbox, so I feel like I need to do the same with Infinite. Also, there's a zero chance my wife will watch me play on PC. There's a slim chance she'll tune in for a bit if I've taken over the living room with the Xbox. It'd be nice to be able to talk about it with her.

I still have a couple AAA games from 2012 in my Steam library that I haven't started yet, but after reading RPS's Wot I Think and seeing that Infinite is getting universally high reviews, I pulled the trigger on GMG's pre-order deal. Pile be damned! (It helps that both of those previously mentioned AAA games were acquired significantly after release for very good prices.)

It's now pre-loaded and ready to unlock in 8.5 hours.

There are plenty of us console peasants here, they can't drive us away. I'm looking forward to Bioshock Infinite on 360, and it sucks I'm going on vacation so I have to wait. Also, Terraria on 360? Hell, yeah.

When I found out Pandora's Tower was delayed from this week to next month, I impulse-preordered Bioshock Infinite...

I'll probably pick it up at midnight tonight and not play it for 2-3 months.

And yes, I'm buying it on PS3. I hardly touch my PC for gaming anymore.

Sorry about your drink, by the way. >.>

The arrow is a lie.

Gah, I suddenly felt a major pain in my brain, as if my very own nerve cells were punishing me for that one.

On the topic of games, though, I actually need to save some money before I grab Bioshock Infinite. College loans and rent came in at the same time as PAX, so I'm low on funds right now and need to rebuild my savings. This means I have to go a couple weeks without Infinite while also trying to avoid spoilers.

This is going to be a hard few weeks.

I'm also picking up Bioshock Infinite (BI? BioInf? BSIN? Binfinate?) for PS3. Hopefully Best Buy will come though on my CE pre-order. I'm trying to pull away from Gamestop, but my pre-order experience at Best Buy as been .... less than encouraging.

They made a third Army of Two game? Really? The first one was kind of fun, but the second was terrible.

Pre-loaded last night, and played 20 minutes of Infinite this morning. Can't wait to get home and actually maybe fight things

Also, with all the "arrow to the knee" comments - I put in 150 hours to Skyrim on Xbox, and had not ONCE heard that line from guards. Maybe I had the holy grail version?

If I were to spend money, Infinite would be the one. Terraria a possible second.
