GWJ Donation Drive 2011 Prize Pool

Did you think we'd run a donation drive without fabulous prizes? We deeply appreciate the support from the community and our favorite way of saying thanks is by enhancing your gaming lives with some cool swag. We're tweaking our process just a little bit this year. The prize draw will be during International Goodjer Day on October 15th. To be entered into the draw, you just need to donate $10 or more to the site or attend an Internation Goodjer Day event. Easy! For details on how to donate hit this post. If you're attending an Internatonal Goodjer Day event, let the organizer know and we'll have them send us a final attendee list.

So what kind of prizes we talking here? How about a new console? A handheld perhaps? How about a custom, one-of-a-kind golden forum icon?

We also have a very cool set of signed Bioshock: Infinite propaganda posters donated from our good friends at Irrational Games!

Read on for full prize details!

How to Win :

As always we offer multiple entries for those of you who donate a little more.

The scale for this year is the same as previous years.

Donations/Entries into the drawing (U.S. funds)
$10 - $24 = 1 entry
$25 - $49 = 2 entries
$50 - $74 = 3 entries
$75 and up = 4 entries

Only one prize per person! Winners will be drawn on International Goodjer Day on October 15th. If you're attending a gathering on the 15th, make sure you RSVP in the respective forum thread! We'll post more detail about where events are taking place soon.

The Prizes:

If you're not from North America, you can still win the grand prize provided you have a local Amazon.com site we can order from!

Staff of GWJ and their families are not eligible to win (staff of GWJ being defined as anyone who has ever had posting privileges to the front page).

All prizes are new and in original packaging.

That's right! For the first time ever, you can win a custom, one of a kind golden forum icon to appear underneath your forum name. The lovely and talented Elysia will make one just for you. Whatever you want! It just needs to fit our usual size/shape guidelines.

The GWJ Staff Steam Shopping Spree

Choose this prize and the GWJ staff will combine forces and buy you a grab bag of awesome games from Steam based on what would be a great fit into your existing Steam library. We'll record the process on the Conference Call too!

Magic The Gathering 2012 Intro Packs & Boosters

Want to see what all the fuss is about? Wizards of The Coast have graciously donated Magic 2012 Intro Packs and Boosters! We have 3 bundles of 5 Intro Packs and 5 Boosters each up for grabs. There's a reason Magic is still popular after such a long time. Julian Murdoch owns $178,000 in online Magic cards. True fact. True.

Thanks for all the support and good luck!

Comments

Yeah as crazy as it seems, I'd probably rather have the runner up prizes than one of the grand prizes. New shiny Vita or 3DS.

The console cycle's been going for so long now, I'd imagine most donors already have their fair share of the big 3

The custom forum icon would be my first choice actually.

I would want this baby:

Really? I'm quite shocked by your choice.

I am still happily scarred from playing Space Rangers 2 (despite having played it to the end). That game was weird stuff.

Wait. Is that an alien from X3?

I'm all confused.

I would definitely go for the PS3. I need a Blu Ray player, Resistance 3 and Demon Souls in my life.

Yep, that's a Boron. Grubber's ongoing attempts to exterminate them are one of the recurring themes of the X3TC thread.

Didn't the Borons constantly try to rip me off, kill me or take my stuff? I don't think I liked them very much. Sorry to derail the thread. Let's get back to pining away for some cool stuff.

The GWJ Staff Steam Shopping Spree seems like the best prize by far, but I would not mind a 2nd vid card as a 2nd choice.

Trust me, there are few good reasons to derail a thread, but talking about how wicked and depraved the fish people are is most certainly one of them.

I'd love a cutting edge video card! Though I fear it would only start a devastating chain reaction in which I then have to update all of my other components to match, and even support, an instrument of such awesome power. This would ultimately leave me penniless, but I'd have one hell of a PC!

Resident console-only gamer here: could you swap out that Steam Sale shopping spree for some kind of equivalent dollar Amazon spree?

Donation will be incoming tonight.

I want thing for my forum icon as I want for real life.

A golden toilet.

I had wondered the same thing.

It's just not in the cards, baby.

You wouldn't have nearly the humor as the crew shredded your library of games while perusing your steam account. On steam, they can see what you have, how much you've actually played, achievements, etc. Still could be done though.

I can link them to my Xbox Live account just as well. I promise they'll be able to make fun of what I've played and what I've 100%'d.

Pretty much this. Not so much what I've 100%'d, but definitely could hear some comments about having played Golden Axe and such.

Wow- what a spread!
