GWJ Donation Drive 2011 Prize Pool

Did you think we'd run a donation drive without fabulous prizes? We deeply appreciate the support from the community and our favorite way of saying thanks is by enhancing your gaming lives with some cool swag. We're tweaking our process just a little bit this year. The prize draw will be during International Goodjer Day on October 15th. To be entered into the draw, you just need to donate $10 or more to the site or attend an Internation Goodjer Day event. Easy! For details on how to donate hit this post. If you're attending an Internatonal Goodjer Day event, let the organizer know and we'll have them send us a final attendee list.

So what kind of prizes we talking here? How about a new console? A handheld perhaps? How about a custom, one-of-a-kind golden forum icon?

We also have a very cool set of signed Bioshock: Infinite propaganda posters donated from our good friends at Irrational Games!

Read on for full prize details!

How to Win :

As always we offer multiple entries for those of you who donate a little more.

The scale for this year is the same as previous years.

Donations/Entries into the drawing (U.S. funds)
$10 - $24 = 1 entry
$25 - $49 = 2 entries
$50 - $74 = 3 entries
$75 and up = 4 entries

Only one prize per person! Winners will be drawn on International Goodjer Day on October 15th. If you're attending a gathering on the 15th, make sure you RSVP in the respective forum thread! We'll post more detail about where events are taking place soon.

The Prizes:

If you're not from North America, you can still win the grand prize provided you have a local Amazon.com site we can order from!

Staff of GWJ and their families are not eligible to win (staff of GWJ being defined as anyone who has ever had posting privileges to the front page).

All prizes are new and in original packaging.

Magic The Gathering 2012 Intro Packs & Boosters

Want to see what all the fuss is about? Wizards of The Coast have graciously donated Magic 2012 Intro Packs and Boosters! We have 3 bundles of 5 Intro Packs and 5 Boosters each up for grabs. There's a reason Magic is still popular after such a long time. Julian Murdoch owns $178,000 in online Magic cards. True fact. True.

Thanks for all the support and good luck!

I seem to be alone in wanting a console! I feel so materialistic. Yay.

Don't worry, spider_j, I'm with you-- as I said before, I'm torn between pretending I will win the PS3 and pretending I will win a Bioshock: Infinite poster.

I want one as well, though I perhaps don't deserve it. I already have all three systems, but damn I'd love to upgrade my 360. I'd feel a bit guilty taking a system I already have from someone that may be wanting a PS3 or 360 or Wii and not have one.

Definitely would go for a PSVita for free, though.

Or one o' them Bioshock posters.

I could use a new pretend video card, since no matter what I do, I don't have hands in L4D2.

Just donated $15! Come on, daddy needs a new iPod Touch!

For the record, I think every year when we've offered a choice, it's a console that has been taken as grand prize.

I'd love to give away a video card for once!

I too want to win a console because I can't in good conscience buy a new 360. Although I would very likely get a very nice Nvidia 560GTX or better from the prize pool were I to win.

I'd love to take it ;). You should have put more video cards because I think most people got the console they want already. It's actually first on my list because I want a new PC and a video card is a big piece of the budget and my plan is a level bellow the HD6970.

I know my chances aren't high anyways but it doesn't really matter. I hope you are getting some money to run the GWJ site out of this .

My second on my list is probably the 3DS though I wouldn't buy one myself. The 360 isn't a bad choice after I saw a review of some kinekt dancing games. The 360 is problematic - no official support in Israel and it's region locked and I'm not sure how it match multiplayer (the main feature of 360) .

I finally remembered to donate!

$100 USD coming your way!

Cheers to all!

What a crazy amount of prizes this year. That's impressive.

A Slambie sighting. Quick, tag her with a GPS tracker before she gets away!

I've been inexcusably negligent with my GWJ posting, so yeah, slambie sightings continue to be exceedingly rare. There is a little bit of room on my left butt cheek for a GPS implant should one be necessary.

It's nice to see you and E continuing to do so well with the site. May the aura of awesomeness be with you always.

If I won the icon, I think I'd get the question mark. Or maybe a exclamation mark.

I would be sorely tempted to go for one of the posters, too.

Aww....Great prizes all the same.

BTW, is Ken Levine SFW and non-inflammatory?

I think he's flammable:

Obviously, you need an interrobang‽

BTW, is Ken Levine SFW and non-inflammatory?

No. No he is not either of those things.

Wait, are you asking?

Ooh, classy punctuation there!

BadMojo won a video card one year, didn't he?

I'd either take the card/PC, but I'm not sure what the stats are.

It's Interrobang, my favorite Rock Band name.

I know I won last year so I shouldn't be a sore winner, but I upped my donation when I saw the Vita. I'm a terrible person.

Wow, some great prizes there. I'm looking forward to my first chance at getting prizes!

Always enjoy the show, happy to donate!

Well, this is exciting that we're enlisting so many people to help me pick out a prize. I do really appreciate it...

Also, I love how they used the old Xbox 360 style image with the HDD on the top. Apparently the graphic designer on file was too busy updating the video card to notice And yes, I know that it will be a new Xbox 360 for whomever may choose that prize.

It would be better if it was white. And there was a picture of the display with the blades. Yes, you'll be winning an original XBox with the blades still installed.

Oddly, if I won, I'd likely go for the ipod touch as my mp3 player recently died and I'd like the convenience of leaving it in the center console of my car and controlling everything from my aftermarket radio. It's also something I would never actually buy myself.

I think I'd go for the Vita, the Steam Spree, or the new icon, in that order..
