March 10 - 15

Section:

There's not much to get excited about this week on the games front. The release list looks more like something from late January, and what is there can be described as of niche appeal at best. I suppose Condemned somehow manages to slouch forward as the biggest release of the week, but I just can't prop that game up on our tiny pedestal, so I think instead I'll usher the minor honor on to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fate.

I have no compelling reason for doing this. I admit to knowing very little about the game except that it carries the Final Fantasy brand and that it posits a world where rings and fate are somehow intertwined. I also presume that some kind of multiplayer element exists, and probably that there will be chocobos, but now I'm venturing into uncertain territory on which my education is woefully inadequate. Either way, I give Ring of Fate the nod for Game of the Week.

On the DVD front this week, Bee Movie, Hitman and the cryptic and obtuse Oscar winner for Best Picture, No Country for Old Men. More here.

How dare you, sir.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot is one of my most anticipated Q1 releases.

Condemned 2 looks creepy, but my wallet is all tapped out. I feel so guilty over Feb's game purchases, I might even just hand my wallet to my wife voluntarily at this point.

This week Circuit City has a good 360 only deal where if you buy Condemned 2 you also can get Condemned 1 for free.

I dont believe the first one ever made it over to the PS3.

Wow I guess Super Smash Bros Brawl slipped under the cracks because of its weekend release.

It did! Otherwise that's clearly Game of the Week.

Super Smash Bros is Game of the Year so it doesn't need the Game of the Week award, yeah that's the ticket.

Chocobos and moogles!

No Smash Brothers? Can't... comprehend...

*rampages*

Plenty of love for both Brawl and Ring of Fates from me.

I'm still looking for that time-warp thing that gives me time to play all this stuff.

I snuck in a thread about Crystal Chronicles here:
http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/3...

It looks like it will be a fun multiplayer dungeon crawl.

I'm pretty sure you could have gone with Pro Evo soccer as well, as that is basically the Madden of futbol for the rest of the world.

Smash Bros - weekend release? They deserve what they get! (Massive success, apparently.)

I really like the first Condemned. With that said, I'll wait for the demo... or price drop before getting Condemned 2.

NANOSTRAY 2 !!!

Thats going to be the best-looking DS title to date.

Also, Ninja Gaiden DS should be out, er, this week or last. Another contender for best-looking DS title.

Nothing I feel like I should get at this very moment, which is fine... I have plenty of backlog to last through the semester. I'm hoping to knock out Lost Odyssey over the upcoming break.

Super Smash Bros Brawl wasn't released last week or this week. Its release transcends time.

Elysium clearly knows the rules of THE BRAWL better than the rest of you....

1st RULE: You do not talk about the brawl.

2nd RULE: You DO NOT talk about THE BRAWL.

3rd RULE: If a game mascot says "stop," goes limp, or taps out, the brawl is over.

4th RULE: Only four mascots to a brawl.

5th RULE: One brawl at a time.

6th RULE: No Sony or MS shirts, no Mickey Mouse shoes. Fire belching flower, ok.

7th RULE: Brawls will go on as long as they have to.

8th RULE: If this is your first night at THE BRAWL, you HAVE to brawl.

You best hope you have not compromised the Nintendo 'Revolution!"

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

And if you don't get the reference, you either don't have kids or never were one.

Whoops. Probably pretty irrelevant to post that HERE now.
