Winterbells

It's winter. You are an adorable rabbit. Celestial bells begin to fall from the sky. What else could one do but begin to leap upon them, ascending higher and higher into the snowy arch of heaven?

Winterbells is spartanly simple, wherein gameplay consists of a single click and then gentle, back and forth motions of the mouse to direct your tiny lapin avatar from bell to bell, each jump taking you higher. The bells disappear as you utilize them, so you have to keep moving onward, much like an unbearably cute shark.

The occasional bird provides alternate landing surfaces and extra points, but mostly you'll keep playing for the vaguely Christmas-hymn-ish music and the sweet "ting" as Bunny hits another bell. The game doesn't seem to have an end, but I've only managed to get up to about 30 000 points - perhaps at some point you do pierce the diamonded vault of the sky and God comes forth to offer you lettuce and a carrot.

A rabbit can dream.

The lettuce is a lie.

Is there a Sasquatch with a big spiked club to smack the rabbit with? Thats what I'm lookin' for!

Stress! The better you do, the farther you have to fall. Do I just fail early on purpose to spare my bunny's life? So evil!

I played this game a while ago. It was wonderful.

My Gods, man. I had to give up after about six thousand points. I just couldn't stand to do that to the poor lil' lagomorph any longer.

You're all insane.

And I'm way cuter.

I hit a few thousand and couldn't keep him flyin'

You could safely recommend the whole site. Perry Halim is some kind of genius.

Holy crap, the birds are the key! They double your score, so yeah, they rock. I just got 21,251,380!

And that is some kinda awesome rabbit, he fell a long way and took it like a fricken ninja!

74,390 before the music made me jam pencils into my ears for sweet, blessed relief.

Ha, yeah the music was kind of catchy until it repeated for the 4,545,972,187th time.

There are Bunny Time Events, in which you see a series of bunnies being pressed on the screen and you have to copy them using the bunnies on your controller. Or you could just bunny mash frantically and hope for the best.

This is one of those games where you can't help but blame yourself when you finally fall (aka the best type of games). No cheap tricks by the computer or anything, just you and the mouse versus millions and millions of bells.

Terribly addicting.

I went to EB games to look for a Prima Winterbells Game Guide.

I didnt find it, but I put $10 down on a pre-order for Winterbells 2

Was that for the regular edition or the limited edition directors cut?

I agree. Orisinal has been in my bookmarks for a pretty long time now. I remember when the site only had 5-6 games... I got hooked on Pocket Full of Stars.

Winterbells is a nice game, but I don't think I could play it for very long due to the repetitive music. So far my highest score is 537,380.

Cheers, guys - that's the first Flash game I've managed to get my wife to play. She loves rabbits. It's one small step from here to Portal...

Oh, and lettuce is allegedly bad for rabbits, too much water in it

I've been playing with the music off to save my sanity.
My highest is 38,110,950, although I've only been able to get half as high lately.

I think I got to around 300 before I lost interest.
