March 12 - March 16

No seriously, no one is allowed to disagree with this week's Game of the Week. It's time to let blades fly and blood spill.

I suppose it's probably just coincidence that I'll be going to see 300 and picking up God of War II on the same day, but I fear I may become so overstimulated by testosterone that I'll chain a couple of steak knives to my wrists and run around the cul de sac screaming This Is Sparta. What I'm saying is, if someone would come bail me out of jail, I'd really appreciate it.

Let's just settle this now. Daniel Craig is James Bond, and until I see a movie that proves otherwise he was an absolutely genius choice to play the role. It's hard to say whether last year's Casino Royale was the best Bond flick ever, but it's certainly the best in decades. If you missed it, you must pick it up on DVD this week. Catch week's the full list here.

So anyone can pick this up for their Guitar Hero box?

Too funny. And so correct. The only thing I'm buying this week is Tiger Woods for Wii.

I love the idea of a golf simulation on the Wii, but as long as EA continues with the over the top mid air spin control crap I'm gonna have to pass on a purchase.

Heh. I'd be happy with Wii Sports Golf with more courses and prettier graphics. Which is all I'm hoping to get out of TW on Wii. Playing Wii Sports with the non-gamers of the family has turned out to be a lot more fun than I though possible. But that's another thread.

If it turns out to be a good game, there better be a thread.

If you can get it in stock.... grumble grumble....

I love that, by the way. I guess you could say we have a GH box, and a Square box at my house.

"This is SPAR-TA!"

Its gonna be Spartan Overload this week for me as well. I'm heading up to the Phoenix area to watch 300 in IMAX, that should be overload enough by itself.

I wish I had the money to pick up GOW2... poopsky...

Maybe I should play the original GOW and see what it's all about.

Nah, I was planning on using my "three times as many good games on my shelf than for any other console" console to play it.

Yeah, if you like RPG-type games, the PS2 is the big gorilla. I've spent more time on the PS2 than any other console I've owned.

I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Yeah, Gears of War is pretty sweet.
*ducks*

An unfortunate coincidence.

I saw and heard a very short 300 commercial on a ReplayTV'd episode of The Colbert report and explicitly went back, turned off commercial skip and watched it. Why? Because it was blaring one of my favorite Nine Inch Nails tracks to date, the instrumental And All That Could Have Been from The Fragile. God of War 2 will be delicious, exquisite violence.

I'm more than slightly disappointed that this isn't released on the PS3.

Granted, the PS3 still plays PS2 games... but that's not the point. I want a freakin' high def. game for my freakin' high def. TV.

The song from the main trailer I'm pretty sure was "Just Like You Imagined" from The Fragile. And All That Could Have Been is the name of their live album/DVD, as well as a track name on the Still CD (a bonus CD from the deluxe edition of And All That Could Have Been).

Buy an Xbox 360, perhaps?
