July 24th - 28th

It really doesn't matter how many times I do it, conquering the world and squashing its timid civilizations under my mighty thumb never grows old. Civilization IV, despite its mediocre performance and occasional frustrations, is a game that gets loaded up at least once every week or two, and the introduction of an expansion pack with a host of new features, civilizations, leaders, units, and abilities appeals to me in unavoidable ways. Which is why Civilization IV Warlords soars to the top of our Game of the Week list.

Assuming you're not the kind of person deeply interested in David Spade films, this might seem like a week of poor DVD releases, but I point your attention to the release of Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain volumes 1. That's assumign you have a kingdom

And Galaga on Xbox Arcade, woohoo!

I think I had intended at one point to make a pun. And then I abandoned the pun, but left the spelling. I'm a tool.

Any buzz on this title? Lethial had mentioned that this was similar to Ceaser III/Zeus/Pharoh city builders.

I think the makers of those games actually have a Rome game coming out. Actually, there are three very similar games about Rome coming out. If someone doesn't post anything before I get home, I'll check the latest Computer Games issue.

So.. uh.. we getting warlords going or what?

I'm all over CivCity: Rome and Galaga. I've been craving a good non-military city builder strategy game since Tropico 2 and I'm hoping CivCity: Rome is it.

Ive lately been playing Civ4 again with some friends, and warlords does look like fun.

What? No talk about Nancy Drew: Danger by Design?

...me and Julie Andrews? What would the kids look like, Brain?
