What's to say, really? The last new game I bought for my Gamecube was Zelda, and I preordered that six months before it was even released. My poor purple box hasn't had much exercise as of late. This week, though, I actually had to choose between games. Soul Calibur II and F-Zero GX both tempted me with their seductive newness. I had more or less already made up my mind before they even made it to shelves, though. I have a few of those "gaming moments" in my life that are centered around fighting games. I even look back with some fondness upon the time in college when I was double-flawlessed, punished with a babality, and summarily banned from the room during a late night Genesis Mortal Kombat session in the college dorms. So, I grabbed SC2 hoping it will act as some sort of lightning rod for another fine gaming memory.
Although, now that I think about it, all of those fighting game moments involve other people. I may not have the same experience as I plow through the single player modes and bizarre new Weapons Master RPG mode. So, I guess you guys can come over. Don't track dirt in the front door, though, or my wife will slay me, and probably finish it with a babality.

That is exactly the reason I don't ever buy fighting games anymore. If you don't have someone to play it with, it just doesn't work for me.

So many fond memories of fighting games just summerized in one comic.
As a witness to the ass kicking Sway received in college I can tell you it was a defining moment in gaming for me. Never before have I seen total domination in such a short period of time. Not one punch landed... and a bability to top it off.
Mortal Kombat 2 for the Sega 32X.
