July 18th to 24th (Site News)

Very, very slow week for game releases. So slow in fact that there isn't much to talk about so we'll just jump ahead to some site stuff. We are now stationed with our new host and everything is looking good. They realized after we moved in they put us on one of their fuller servers which just isn't going to do at all if we want to maintain a solid level of performance. That being the case, GWJ will be making a short server hop tonight to a better hosting machine and then we should be settled. With luck everything will be 100% done by the end of tomorrow!

On DVD this week we've got Constantine, Wildcats: Season 1 and more!

Huh, I had no idea they'd made a Wildcats cartoon series.

I remember the advertisements for it, but never saw a single episode.

I was young enough at the time to be really disappointed that I could never seem to catch a showing.

Does anybody know if it was fun to watch or not?

I guess no one else is excited about Colosseum: Road to Freedom (which is already being developed as a "remix" edition in Japan -- Jesus, Koei, would it kill you to release the "eXtreme edition" as the original game, you greedy bastards?)? I long for the day when someone gets the balls to do an online-only multiplayer gladiator game with the opportunity to win your freedom and own your own stable of fighters who you whore out in money-matches as easy fodder. Like a clan-leader and pimp all rolled into one.

So, Constantine...anyone actually see that? Worth a rental?

I'm going to rent Constantine over the weekend. Although I hear that it's kind of bad... but at least it's better than anything out now any way... Ehh!

Netflix has Constantine on its way to my house today (I lucked out and have the warehouse about 30 miles from me)

The idea of Constantine is a lot more appealing than "Constantine" itself. They took a promising concept and turned it into a disorganized yet formulaic mishmash of crappity crap. Not worth a rental IMO unless you would rent it for the same reason as latest Van Damme and Steven Seagal flicks - to make fun of it while watching.

I notice the tracker has changed its behavior since the change (1st change). Instead of updating the most recent threads when you click the link or hit the back button going to the index it seems to be on a timer. I can no longer get updated on the new posts when I want it to be.

Exactly, it's on a 3 minute timer. You notice the site is ridiculously faster too, right?

Also, umm, wierd place to post that.

I didn't want to search for the other GWJ 2.0 thread.
