June 6th to 12th

Section:

I was in Blockbuster the other day looking to rent Psychonaughts. Normally I'd just buy it but I'm on a "budget" and apparently that means I'm not supposed to spend money whenever I want. Unfortunately, Blockbuster didn't have the game so I was left chumming up and down the aisles trying to find something I might have missed over the past few months. My penchant for buying (and disliking) Japanese made RPG's is well known at this point so my picking up Baten Kaitos and putting it down about ten times might have seemed more normal to you than it did to the bemused Blockbuster employee. I know I can't stand these games anymore but like Sway once said "I just want to see a 'You picked up: Antidote' message and hear the chime sound" In the end I put it down and walked out of the store with Prince of Persia 2, I think I liked those games more when I was about as young and stupid as the protagonists. The June draught continues with a new Medal of Honor game and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the Xbox. If you're looking to slap some money on the down low this is the hizzle for you!

This 1 month straight you said in the groove would come out! ^^

You mean Gametab guy has, I think he goes by EBGames' release list and once in a while games can get bumped week to week. It happens, I'm just surprised you're paying such close attention

Start looking under the couch cushions for money for Psychonauts. My wife is completely addicted to it and friends of ours played it 6 hours non-stop Saturday night. Well worth the money and I give it my highest recommendation.

As far as this week, I plan on getting some 40s and popping some caps in GTA:SA Tuesday night. I've been looking forward to it for a very long time.

I have to look again? I already bought that game! I need to buy a second copy?

Yep, we need to keep creative guys like Tim Shaffer in business.

Samurai Western? Is that a followup to Zan the Samurai Gunman?

God they are drawing out the Sopranos...I just saw they are advertising for the next season starting in May 2006. That means the previous season's DVDs will have been out for about a year before the next season even starts. They need either to let it go or film and releaseon a realistic schedule.

My girlfriend loves Psychonauts, though she's more interested in watching me play than playing it herself. But I'm no longer allowed to play it when she's not around. (Of course, I had the same limitation for Riddick, and she wasn't around for a while so I finished it, and I haven't yet heard the end of it...)

As for San Andreas, I'm GameFly'ing that one. I was able to not go out and play the inferior PS2 version, waiting instead for the Xbox game.

Damn double post. Stupid unresponsive GWJ!

I expect to soon find myself in the horns of a major gaming dilemma: a nasty addiction to my beloved Azeroth, and an even nastier desire to smack a few hos in San Andreas. WoW is just freakin' awesome, but I spent MONTHS of my life in Liberty City and Vice City.

It's kind of like dating this chick and being whole-heartedly in love with her, but you drift apart after a while after having fully explored the relationship. You go on a break and meet some new chick. You really like her a lot and are thinking that maybe this'll be the one, and then the first chick shows up in your life again and she's taken some cooking classes AND SHE'S HAD A BOOB JOB!!! Honestly, what's a boy to do?

edited cause apparently i can't spell none too good and got no grammerly skills.

Another reason why overly pale, red-headed Canadians shouldn't pretend they are black.

Certis, I say this with much love, but you are so non-black as to be transparent.

I may have to hold off a bit on GTA. I love getting to 100% completion in those games, and running around trying to find 100 little packages and whatever other minutia is involved with that seems a bit daunting at this point in time.

Edited for clarity.

I really want GTA as well, but I don't think I can justify that AND Battlefield 2 in the same month to the wife.

You didnt miss a thing with Baten Kaitos. Great ideas, piss-poor design. I just cannot deal with the lack of spoken dialogue anymore, even on the cube. I will tolerate it on a portable system but not something with over a gig of storage. It just makes....me...so....angry! If I want to read my friggin entertainment Ill buy a book. Whew, that feels better. Thanks.

Baten Kaitos has voice overs but it's so bad, that it's better to keep it off... other wise the game is good. -imo

Is the GTA any better than it was for PS2? Glitches, graphics, targeting...

By the way Samurai Jack: Season 2 came out... finally!

yes on everything.

i'm guessing there will be mouse aiming instead of lock-on targeting.

I'll more than likely get this one for PC. I played the hell out off Vice City on PC.

Unfortunately my PC system is a 3hour subway/bus ride from where I live... My only option is Xbox or PS2 in this case! I should have been specific... so any word on Xbox version?

I just picked up my copy of San Andreas PC, and am currently installing. The casing is just beautiful. Instead of having the game in a sleave/cd case, the separate manual, and the usual poster, the packaging is made like a book. The decently sized hardcover manual has the poster stuck to the inside front cover (with what I like to call "booger glue") and the dvd disk is attached to the inside back cover. All in all very nice. Now to play...

psychonauts...
damn, now i'll never get my ps2 back from the gynocerous again.

I've played the PC version of GTA:SA for about an hour at the 1920x1200 very high detail setting and... uhm... Goodbye Multiplayer games! I'll see you guys in about a month or so!

I would be interested in buying some seasons of the Sopranos, but man they are charging $80 for them! That's just ridiculous...

I'd like to second that...
