May 2nd - May 8th

Section:

Our good pal at GameTab hasnÂ't contacted me with a release list at the time of this posting so IÂ've gone ahead and done it myself. Poorly. There are a few interesting games coming out this week, two of which are expansions to World War II Online and AsheronÂ's Call 2. Amazing. Our Game of the Week is Pariah which will see ship for the PC and the Xbox this Tuesday for $49.99. By all accounts it looks like Digital Extremes has put together a solid shooter. Considering they are the same folks behind the UT series I wonÂ't be surprised if that is indeed the case.

On DVD this week we have National Treasure, Spaceballs: SE, a ton of TV seasons and more!

Spaceballs Special Edition? Man someone please tell me he's done some 'revisioning' of his own.

For PC, there's also "Rhem 2" scheduled for Monday the 2nd.

Was AC2: Legions delayed with the AC1 expansion delay?

I didn't hear any good things about Pariah! Shame...

I wonder what so special about S.Edition of Spaceballs?

I don't think we'll see it... I know EB has it listed for the 2nd, but GameStop has it for the 20th and the official site says "Coming Soon". Also, they haven't even released a box art yet. Stranger things have happened, but signs point to it not making it this week.

It's on DVD, has a menu, and you skip to certain scenes! Special enough for you?

Whenever I see "special", "limited", etc... editions, I have to wonder, where are the regular editions? Afterall, it's not special unless there is something to compare it to to make it special, right?

Another week with no Cube releases. Huh. I guess the answer is Nintendon't.

I played Pariah demo from the OXM disc and the MP demo for PC. Felt like a solid pick-up-and-play FPS choice. I will most likely conform to mainstream and buy it.

Edit: waddayaknow, Xbox.IGN.com reviewed it and gave 8.0.

Gamer's opinion of Pariah will probably change vastly with their expectations. While the game promises many of the same features of the best shooters on Xbox, it doesn't quite meet them terms of quality. The single player game is enjoyable but it is over quickly and the driving and rail shooting elements are substandard. The online modes and map editor will provide gamers with a ton of content, but I don't see this game replacing my current Xbox Live standbys. FPS junkies who are wowed by pretty visuals should give this game a spin.

Still worth a try IMHO.

Yeah... I guess... [looks over the DVD rack] ...but I have 40 other DVD and they are not that Special... well few I like... and one I think is {ableist slur}!... yet not that special...

Am I the only one disturbed by the name "Necromania"?

Probably. The root necro, meaning "dead" really only disturbs me when paired with the root word meaning "love" i.e. philia. Necromania simply denotes an affinity for death, which as we all know is not ... creepy at ... all ...

okay fine.

Spaceballs "regular edition" was released on DVD about 4 years ago. here's your sign

I own Spaceballs on DVD... it even has a menu
