August 30th - September 5th

Pardon the late start this week, I was wrapped up in the Tribes: Vengeance beta until about 10PM and then Reaper demanded I join them for a little Joint Ops action which ended up going until after 1AM. We had a great time with some of the Tactical Gamers folks and totally dominated the maps we played. I even played a medic which involved healing through inappropriate touching so IÂ'd call the night a total success! Despite ESPN FootballÂ's $19.99 price point Madden still outsold it by a few hundred thousand copies. That may seem like a lot but ESPN sold over 800,000 vs. MaddenÂ's 1.2 million or so. How will our Game of the Week, ESPN NHL 2K5 do against EAÂ's offering? I guess weÂ'll see! This may be the only NHL hockey action you see this year so youÂ'd better enjoy it, punks. It ships right now for $19.99 on the Xbox and PS2

On DVD this week weÂ've got The Passion of the Christ, Jesus Christ Super Star, The Last Days of Jesus Christ, Southpark: The Passion of the Jew and more! Jesus, thatÂ's a lot of Jesus. IÂ'd also like to point out that the release list for games is huge this week, step inside and take a look!

Don't forget left turns. Lots and lots of left turns.

Praise be, ESPN NHL 2K5 out this week and on the front page. Those of you that haven't been keeping track of the goodness added this year would be well-served by reading this (and watching the videos), this, and this. New franchise, more options, better defensive and offensive AI, return of camera zoom... this has the makings of a great game.

A few of my friends at work and I were getting SRS for the XBox Live pink slip races, but the lukewarm reviews are steering us towards Juiced instead.

And I will be getting NHL 2k5 so I can join ColdForged's league.

Maybe we should start thinking of the league logistics now. GWJHL is it? I'm in! And even though I'm Canadian, I'm sure I'll stink up this league just as much as the GWJFL!

You can't Marlin, it's in your blood, like high BAC and maple syrup.

Dibs on the Sabres! Ha! When do I need to have my copy by, ColdForged?

Right now, sweet cheeks ;).

Hey ColdForged, remember we're supposed to play this hockey game together. Getting this puppy as soon as it's available up here. Gamertag is MrGreen.

Oh btw, World cup tonight: Canada 2 - USA 1 8)

What the hell does that mean? Help us city slickers out!

Be afraid of the answer you seek... it's not pretty.

I'm not answering it for Mateo... anyone going to take this one?

Ahem... allow me.

For all you "city slickers"
