Sega Patents Fun, Sues Everyone

I saw over at Slashdot Games and HomeLan Fed that Sega is suing EA over the game Simpsons: Road Rage. Sega took out a patent over thier game Crazy Taxi and claims Simpsons: Road Rage violates this patent. Take the time to read the patent. Ready to punch something yet? They patented NPCs jumping out of the way of the car. How the hell did they get away with that? Next we'll have people patenting "Arguing in an Interactive Medium" and suing the hell out of the rest of the internet. In fact, I think I'm going to go down to the patent office now and .... have a donut ... or two.

*edit* The patent also covers the arrow that leads the player to the next destination. Street signs everywhere are being covered up in anticipation of a lawsuit.

I'm putting a patent on poorly worded sarcasm. I'm going to make millions.

Aww, mine grammar ain't that bad.

Though you could put everyone in P&C in the poor house. Sue Lawyeron, he's a lawyer and sarcasm boy, you'd be rich in no time!

Another appropriate title could have been:

"Sega Sues EA For Imitating Their Space Taxi Copycat"

Oh god, no. Sega, how you have fallen.
