Sept 29th - Oct 5th

Big week ahead for the Gamers With Jobs family! As you read this Elysium may very well be passed out on the floor while Elysia huffs and puffs her way to releasing the first ever little Elysium into the world. In less exciting news Hoochie and I will be moving to our new house on Wednesday (we got delayed this weekend) and getting all unpacked there. If I'm gone for the rest of the week it could be my internet isn't up and running yet. Last I checked, Sway wasn't due to have Pyro's love-child until December so they should be around along with Spunior to keep things going here.

Onto the week ahead!

The BIG Games

Age of Mythology: The Titans
Platform: PC
Ships: Sept 30th
Price: $29.99

The Buzz: A worthy expansion to an excellent RTS game.

Etherlords II: The Second Age
Platform: PC
Ships: Sept 30th
Price: $39.99

The Buzz: Elysium enjoyed the demo and I like cookies. Keep an eye on this one if the original did anything for you.

Auto Modellista
Platform: GC
Ships: Sept 30th
Price: $39.99

The Buzz: A highly technical racer that's not for everyone. Take a good long look at the PS2 version reviews before snapping this cel-shaded racer up.

Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown
Platforms: PS2, Xbox, PC
Ships: Sept 30th
Price: $39.99

The Buzz: Aside from the fact that it's a RPG/strategy game with some action added in I really couldn't tell you much about it.

Halo: Combat Evolved
Platform: PC
Ships: Sept 30th
Price: $49.99

The Buzzzzzzz..... oh... wha? Sorry, fell asleep for a second there. I don't see much point if you've already played the hell out of the Xbox version already. That said, if the multiplayer pans out it could be a good time, I'm just not sure it would be a $50 dollar good time.

Freedom Fighters
Platform: PC, PS2, Xbox, GC
Ships: Oct 1st
Price: $49.99

The Buzz: Built on the Hitman 2 engine, this is a squad-based action title that scored a surprising 9.3 at Gamespot and an 8.4 at IGN.

DVDs Soon!

Damnit Sway, what good was all that hush money if you're going to tell people anyway? Jesus.

I would've been hyped about Halo on the PC if it'd been $30 and I wasn't currently chock full of games to play. Certis has me sort interested in Freedom Fighters now, I have no time to play a game I've played several times over. I'll probably wait till it's $20 so I can play multiplayer. As long as that happens before Halo 2 comes out.

I agree, I think it would have a much bigger market at $35-$40.

This week's Best Buy circular has Halo PC listed at $39.99, though I believe it also said it wouldn't be available until Thursday. I also wouldn't expect that price to last beyond next Sunday.
