Silent Hill Goes Big Screen

...be happy and smile

Another game franchise is going to make its way into the movie theatres. GamesMarkt notes that Konami has officially announced that a movie based on Silent Hill will be made. While the series is known for its scary and gory atmosphere, the license was not handed over to the infamous Boll KG (Alone in the Dark & House of the Dead movies) this time surprisingly enough. Davis Films Sarl is going to produce the motion picture. It will be directed by Christophe Gans, responsible for movies such as Brotherhood of the Wolves and Crying Freeman. Konami promises cooperation and support for  script, setting, sound and special FX design to make sure that final product is close to the games. Of course, that's what Capcom also said before the Street Fighter movie came out. Apples and oranges, I know. Hopefully.
