Sometimes old games can be taught new tricks. We have seen the "leaked" screenshots and "confirmed" rumors surrounding the 1.10 patch for Diablo II. Rat Boy, acting as minister of information, presented the forums with a mod to update System Shock 2. And yesterday Project Magma and MythDev announced the release of their Myth 1.4 mod.
Note this is version 1.4 of their Myth II mod and not an update to Myth I. I know it's a little confusing. I hate numbers, too. But this is another "for gamers, by gamers" type patch that will undoubtedly have me digging out my discs and reinstalling for the nth time. They already have a similar venture under way for Myth III, which had huge potential, but more or less flopped due to a buggy release and lack of patches.
Myth v1.4 adds over 100 enhancements, bug fixes and new features to Myth II: Soulblighter, in the areas of: graphics; interface improvements; elimination of plugin lag; elimination of chat lag; elimination of the 'walking bug', new mapmaking features; AI improvements and bug fixes; optional vTFL (virtual TFL) gameplay, which effectively brings both games and communities to the same program; and much, much more.
