The Week Ahead
After a weekend of games and relaxation I feel refreshed and ready to take life by the horns and turn it into a Happy Meal. It's also Monday, that means I don't have to make any sense since most of you are in a post-weekend daze. Wuzzle wozzle. Quite a bit of my gaming time has been spent with my new GBA SP and Zelda: A Link to the Past. I don't know what the hell happened in my youth but I never played Zelda on my SNES.Playing A Link to the Past has turned out to be the perfect primer for this week's release of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It ships today so some stores may actually get their copies this afternoon while most should start seeing them on Tuesday. Let's have a look at what else is coming across our plates this week!
All games ship on Tuesday except Zelda, which is special and need its own day so it doesn't beat up the other games.
Zelda: The Wind Waker (GC): Ships Monday!
Batman: Dark Tomorrow (GC): Batman games are always hit and miss. I advise caution.
Army Men Air Combat: The Elite Missions (GC): Quit beating a dead milked cow!
Shadowbane (PC): Run away children! Run far, far away!
Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb (PC): On the Xbox I found it to be do do do doooo do do boring.
Devastation (PC): Many were devastated by the demo, wait for reviews.
Vietcong (PC): What can I say about this one? No really... what?
MGS 2: Substance (PC): Finally, PC users can enter a world where elite soldiers and whiny little boys.
Bandits: Phoenix Rising (PC): I played the demo, it claims to be like Interstate 76 but everything it too arcadey for that to be the case.
New World Order (PC): A budget FPS staring an Eminem look-alike.
Galactic Civilizations (PC): It looks old school and intimidating. I'm sure it will fit right in.
Restaurant Empire (PC): A place you can make your own pie!
Purge (PC, 27th): The title might be fitting.
Primal (PS2): I know the ads are stupid..
Dynasty Warriors 4 (PS2): IGN gave it an 8.6
Auto Modellista (PS2): A cel shaded racer, it may very well be the bees knees.
Mobile Light Force 2 (PS2): Hey look, a sequel!
Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis (PS2, Xbox): Meh.
V-Rally 3 (Xbox): Another Xbox racing game.
RollerCoaster Tycoon (Xbox): I'm surprised it took this long.
State of Emergency (Xbox, 26th): Only $20 US, cheap.
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (Xbox, 27th): Are they still making these games?
The Lost Vikings (GBA): Now that I own a GBA, I suddenly care!
