Warbirds III has been around since sometime just after the wheel was invented hasn’t it? It's amazing such an old series has not only survived this long but now a major upgrade will be going open beta on February 19th. The open beta is slated to last a month and according to Gamespot, it should contain the following enhancements:
I may have to check it out, I've always loved the idea of Warbirds but not enough to pay for it. This is mostly due to my aversion to paying to have my ass kicked over and over again.
The update includes new terrain based on the southern islands of the Philippines. The terrain information was generated from satellite data with a resolution of 100 meters. New Japanese fighter bombers, including the B5N2 Kate, the D3A Val, and the G4M1 Betty, will appear in WarBirds Pacific Theater of Operations, along with new 3D cockpits for various German and US fighter planes. The new update also adds the ability to drive tanks like the M4A3 Sherman and the Russian T-34.
