C&C General Sneak Peek at Fileplanet

Section:

Looks as though Fileplanet has a sneak peek at the next Command and Conquer game available for its subscribers.  The multiplayer demo looks like resource hog though, so don't expect silky smooth gameplay with these requirements:

The Sneak Peek was the Multiplayer Test created in November 2002, so it not optimized and does not reflect the final retail product. To run the Sneak Peak, you MUST meet the following requirements: - 2 Gigahertz CPU minimum - 512 MB RAM minimum - GeForce4, or more recent Direct3D-capable video card - A current FilePlanet Subscription

Still, if you're aching for a look at this game, here's you chance.  Get the file here.

Thanks for for the tip, Valcron!

I'm sad to say this doesn't do much for me, just MOTS with units and AI not as smart as older games like TA. There is going to be a fit over the Terrorist stuff.

I can see people burning the boxes with the Terrorist motif.

Requirements are kind of steep, aren't they?  Unless by "optimized" they mean "fix it so regular people can run it."

DL'ing now...I don't meet the specs...well, I have the GF4 but I don't make the other two...P4 2 512 and GF4? I really hope those are not final....as someone at work commented...coded poorly if these are true requirements.

Woot!

There is no spoon.

Best movie EVAR!

Holy sh*t, are you serious?

Are those the final requirements?

I think those are the highest I've seen in a long time. I thought Doom3 would be the next game to do something like that.

To run the Sneak Peak, you MUST meet the following requirements: - 2 Gigahertz CPU minimum - 512 MB RAM minimum - GeForce4, or more recent Direct3D-capable video card

Now THAT'S funny!

Really, I can count on less than ONE hand the number of games I've played as "unoptimized" betas and then as optimized final products whose performance was actually improved. Odds are, no matter what they may put on the box, the above specs are what will really be needed, regardless; and frankly, I think they're flat-out ridiculous, even for an "unoptimized" beta-version.

Another reason why I'm finding console gaming more and more appealing. They only seem to force me to upgrade once every 3 or 4 years. And even then, it's for less than $500.

I second the console remark, go XBOX !!!

BTW, the new shots of Crimson Skies and Brute Force rock !!!
