Harry Potter Gets a Date

Section:

According to CNN, Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix will be released on June 21st, 2003 worldwide.

They even have a bit from the opening of the book.

The hottest day of the summer so far was drawing to a close and a drowsy silence lay over the large, square houses of Privet Drive ... The only person left outside was a teenage boy who was lying flat on his back in a flowerbed outside No. 4.

J.K Rowling is so hot. Thanks for the heads up Loney_Hat!

I suppose ... in a smug, intellectually superior, nerdy-girl-seeks-revenge, Martha Stewart kind of way.  Maybe.

I've never read these books.  People keep telling me I'm missing out.

- Elysium (missing out!)

Don't even get me started on Martha Stuart! Let's just say I wouldn't throw her out of bed for making swans out of sandwich meat.

Rrrrrrrooooowww!

Not sure about that...

Yeah, the books are great fun.  Even friends who don't like to read *shudder* seem to get a kick out of them.    I think the fourth book was the best of the lot... but the new one looks promising and weighs in at 768 pages!

Elysium you really should pick them up and read them. They're great books and easy to read, you'll end up compeleting them in about a week.

I hate Harry Potter.  Horrible derivitive nonsense.  If you want a set of "Childrens" Books, then try His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman.  It will appeal to the Planescape Torment and Longest Journey loving geek that's inside you.

Although it disturbs me that they changed the title of the first book (Northern Lights) for the US market.  That sucks.

I've been meaning to pick up these books for a while.  I wanna know how many little kids really read 700+ page books.

BTW .. groovy site.  I especially like the word/post screen.

She is one fine looking woman indeed! But why does this suprise me?

Oh and btw, I wish Certis and Elysium the best of luck with this web site, I've had geek dreams about a site like this. Besides, I enjoyed reading you guys on EvilAvatar and I was really disappointed when you left. Happy me!

Let's just say I wouldn't throw her out of bed for making swans out of sandwich meat.

I think anyone who could do that IN MY BED gets permission to stay.

... did I just say that?

Not only is she hot, she also pulled down the most cash in the U.K. last year, beating out Her Majesty the Queen and transplanted Madonna.

*cue Homer Simpson cat purr*

I bought the first book on a lark, figuring the hype couldn't be justified.  I was wrong, it's great storytelling, particularly of you're a bit if an anglophile.  The unabridged audiobooks read by Jim Dale are even better, they're now my preferred format (I never "read" the books after the 1st one).  Hope the audio gets released at the same time as the hardcover.
