2011 MLB Season Discussion

My point was simply I don't like to see snow canceling April games, so maybe avoid places in the first week or two of the season where it's more likely to happen (IE, Cleveland, Colorado, Chicago), and play in places it won't (IE, Texas, Houston, Tampa, Miami). You know, the cities you conveniently left out of your weather chart. 8-)

Yes, because snowed out games are a real epidemic. As far as I can remember, it's happened once when Cleveland had a blizzard. You know where they played those games instead? Milwaukee, where there wasn't any snow. I'll say it again, baseball starts in April not f*cking January. You're making something that isn't a problem seem like it's the worst thing facing baseball. Also, it's not my chart asshole.

I'm not sure why you think vulgarity was warrented during this exchange, but you definitely lost a ton of respect in my book.

How about that World Series, eh? Pretty good one, I reckon.

After the absolute, unadulterated beating that was game 3, it was encouraging to see Holland pitch the game of his life in game 4.

Carpenter vs. Wilson tonight ought to be another gem. I've always been a fan of Carpenter, although I will admit that I'd rather he not be on his game tonight. I was at the Skydome a few years ago where he had a no-hitter going through 6(7?) against the Blue Jays. He's fun to watch.

I think whoever takes tonight's game is going to take it all. With that said, my money's on Carpenter.

Agreed, if the Cards win tonight it's over. If the Rangers can win tonight I give them a slight edge headed back to STL (maybe 60/40?), but it's by no means a lock.

I agree. I don't think the Rangers can win two straight in St. Louis. They are a very good road team, but I think it will be too big of a hill to climb against a really good team. I just hope the good C.J. Wilson shows up tonight.

Pants mad bro.

St Louis deserved to lose. Trying to steal second with Pujols at bat... TWICE?

The first one was bad enough. After the second, my dad commented that is probably the worst coaching call he's seen in world series baseball. And I'd agree, although he's got 20+ years on me watching.

I guess I'm halfway rooting against Texas since they beat my Rays... but damn. Coaching like that you don't deserve to win.

The NFL sure is doing baseball a favor by trotting out these awful games against the World Series. Also, this just in... Chris Carpenter is a giant douche.

Are the Cardinals pulling the ultimate troll on their fans? Film at 11.

Can't win a game when you are 1/12 with RISP. And neither Craig nor Jay can hit in front of Pujols. I'd rather hit into a double play, personally.

Ah well. Still got games 6 and 7 (hopefully).

Also, Carpenter is kinda douchey isn't he? I'd never seen him curse out a batter like that. No wonder the Reds went ham on him last year.

Also never seen a guy give a marriage proposal to a home run but he did...

I shaid warm up BLNAF BLSH, not BLOOFH BLPH.

It takes a very special type of individual to make fun of someone that was having a pretty serious medical condition.

This pretty much describes the game. Not fun at all.

But the Cards have played their best baseball with their backs to the wall. They needed to win two in a row to beat Philly, and the second one was on the road. I think they can pull this off. It's been an absolutely great series so far. I think Jaime gets us to Game Seven.

What a weird, weird game. I don't hate CJ WIlson or anything but after his performance in the last couple of post-seasons, I hope he gets paid $TOOMUCH by $SOMEONEELSE in free agency.

The upper body strength that requires is ridiculous. That's entirely off the front foot.

I expect to see a game seven... this series has been so good it would be cruel for it not to happen. Still waiting to see if Josh Hamilton can deliver a big game.. that could be the X factor.

Yeah, I really like CJ, but he has been brutally bad in the postseason. I've been in a keeper fantasy league, and I've had him on my team since he was setting up Francisco Rodriguez for saves. I'm not going to make the mistake I made with Cliff Lee and drop him, though.

I'm gonna be bummed if St. Louis loses, but I'm still going to be pretty happy for the Rangers. They've been my favorite AL team for some time now. With Nolan Ryan taking over, they've really become a class organization.

Aw, you think I'm special!

Ron Washington's little dugout dances are ADORABLE.

Damn is this the worst fielded World Series ever too? How many errors can they have?

Woooooo! Beltre! Woooooo!

Woooooo! Cruz! Woooooo!

Let's go Torty!

C'mon Feliz, close this baby out!

Edit: Jesus, throw a damn strike!

He dropped it! He dropped it! He dropped it!

Man, how many comebacks do the Redbirds have in them?
