Gotta love progress!

I'm not going to complain about Comcast. Well, not about my connection speed.

I'm not sure about price, I think it's ~$60 but it's bundled in with TV and I am too lazy to get a bill and figure it out.

One of these days they will actually get FiOS out here and I will change as soon as they do.

Not download caps tho, so unlimited porn downloads

IMAGE(http://www.speedtest.net/result/1538102627.png)

yah, comcast sucks...

IMAGE(http://www.speedtest.net/result/1538118753.png)

Meh....except for the upload - which is infuriating - it does the job and runs me about $45 with phone included. Also, no download caps.

Still WAY better than what I had with Bellsouth and Charter in Alabama before moving here, although that was 5 years ago.

Internet is included as part of the rent. I'm asked to limit my total bandwidth to 30GB a day but I've gone over that a few times and had no complaints.

up until June we were getting 0.7 MB/S Download speed, but now:

HUZZAH!

Here is mine. Living in Curacao. Quite the improvement over 2004, when I was here as well and only had dial up. When it rained, internet was down.
I can get a better line as well. But my renting situation won't allow it for now. At least I have unlimited download.
IMAGE(http://speedtest.net/result/1538201088.png)

When I was in The Netherlands, this is what I had for a while.
Unlimited download and it's legal to download (only) movies and music.

I am surprised there is no better speeds there in Venezuela. On a good day here, I can see Venezuela from here!

We have FiOS 25/25.
This is using WiFi, since I didn't feel like running cable. My wife is using a wire and gets the full 25, I think.

Yeah, I'm on WiMax.

What does it mean when I'm paying $70 a month and this is three times faster than what I get?

Means it's time for some vaseline.

Cause you be getting raped son!

Wow that upload is awesome. You're the perfect torrent host!

Except I don't do torrents.

Best that Time Warner offers around here.

Seriously, are some of you guys living in the future and posting here from a time machine to the past?

Aren't you here in Nashville? Comcast is running a special where you get the same internet speed I have (I'm testing 30Mb down) and basic cable for $40/month for 12 months, with no contract required. It is in your best interest -- nay, it is your duty -- to switch over now.

Comcast in downtown Chicago. Disappointing for $47/month.

Hey, it's only supposed to be 12 Mbit! And they're testing from Mexico!

$30 / month for a year, then $60 / month. I could get faster if I bought AT&T TV too.

IMAGE(http://www.speedtest.net/result/1538756591.png)

Not too shabby, I suppose, although I know for a fact I've gotten better speeds later on in the night when the wireless network is empty.

That up/Down ratio of yours is freaking me out.

We must have gotten some upgrades since the last time I bothered to check.

IMAGE(http://www.speedtest.net/result/1538957589.png)

Not too shabby. I now feel slightly less nerd rage that it's advertised as "up to" 30 MBps.

We pay about $60 a month, but that includes the landline phone. The phone is ostensibly $20 but they give a $10 discount for bundling two services, meaning that the Internet would be $50 by itself.

hbi2k, is that cable modem?
Do those still share bandwidth in a given neighborhood?
So if none of your neighbours are using bandwidth, you might hit 30, but as the usage goes up, at a given time, your bandwidth goes down.

That might explain the variance, although presumably Sunday evening would be close to peak when it comes to Internet usage.

*sigh* Best I could get was 6.77. I wanted 90

30GB... in a day... WTF?!! How?!?!?! I have a 100GB quota per month and barely even scratch the surface. I average maybe 300-400 MB a day? Maybe?

Also, at 90MB a second, you could download Rage from Steam in around 4 minutes. Gah! That's insane! That's just ludicrous!

Happened when I re-formatted my computer and was re-downloading my game library from Steam/Blizzard/Impulse/GoG. Didn't quite realize quite how many games I actually had. Also, when you have such a fat pipe it's amazing how quickly your bandwidth goes up. Watching streaming stuff from Hulu and the like.

IMAGE(http://www.speedtest.net/result/1535560830.png)

It's the best I can do where I'm living. Hopefully soon that will change though.

*Edit- Mine is $79.99/month for only the internet.

I don't want to talk about this again.

The only thing sadder than your speed is the fact that you're 53% faster than the rest of Venezuela.

well, I could upgrade to a "better" plan but it would cost me around 25$ per month, and it would still be with the same government owned ISP, same people that when I asked them why my service was being so crappy they told me it was so because I was browsing "foreign" websites "like youtube" and since their "servers" are abroad it is much slower, so why don't you try using local, more patriotic websites? I had to locate a technician through a connection that would come and check the phone line for it to be fixed.

Those were awesome moon pics you were taking the other day. It is funny, I was checking the moon too and thinking that it was strikingly shiny, and then you came and posted those shots a couple days/hours later.

Sadly I don't really have a choice in providers in my area, it's either a small cable company or horrible Verizon DSL. I'm not quite out in the sticks, but not quite in the burbs either. My plan does come with a cap - 300GB with $5 for every 25GB over, but I've been able to stay under most months.

IMAGE(http://www.speedtest.net/result/1541400616.png)

This is about as good as you can get in New Zealand. Monthly quota is 90 GB. (My ISP is actually Vodafone, Speedtest apparently haven't updated their database entry for the now-defunct Ihug.)
