I want to sig that just for the sheer inaccuracy, but I have room for 2 more characters without editing Fletcher's immortal words, and I can't bring myself to do so.

Words that must be preserved for future generations!

I went 10/0/9 with Teemo today. First game without having a death, and helped my team for a glorious victory!

What sort of Teemo were you? Tanky? DPS? AP? I DEMAND TO KNOW!!!

Some the guys have played with me as Anivia in the past. Not sure I've ever killed a teammate with an ill placed wall, but I have certainly saved a few enemies with it. It definitely takes same a lot of practice, but its very satisfying when you get it working.

Yeah I remember a few times trying to chase and being cut off. It's like kill stealing except no one gets the kill.

The LoL community is really beginning to piss me off and sour me on the game. I thought as I got better and played with better players, this would taper off. Instead, it seems the asshat contingent is actually getting more prevalent.

So many examples, but one of the worst is people who yell about "kill stealing" (edit: Stele's comment reminded me of this, this is not an attack on anyone). Seriously? This is a team game with 0 rewards for kills, only for wins. Not to mention that I don't think it's possible to "kill steal". In a game with Flash, Ghost, and oodles of escape abilities, if you see someone who is low on health - you attack, no questions asked. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten a kill on an escaping enemy with Kog's ult and been yelled at for kill stealing, when my teammate had no guarantee of catching the escapee.

Just plain dumb and frustrating that these people live in our world. I'm getting to the point where I'm only going to play when I have a team of 5 (or at least 4).

Seriously these people make XBL look like GWJ.

Every time someone talks about kill stealing I just tell them they sound like a child whining about who got the biggest piece of cookie. They usually shut up then.

Yeah, there are definitely some people problems, especially in the solo queue ranked area. Press tab, then press ignore next to their name. I operate on a one strike and you're out philosophy when it comes to strangers in chat.

On the other hand, the last time I played a game of league with no one I knew was...never? Between real life friends who play league, and league friends who play league I'm always in a group of some kind. The awesome moments we've had together more than makes up for the bumcake fools.

Hit up some chat rooms, or the GWJ Vent / Mumble and hop in with some people. This game is designed for teams!

Generally, if someone whines about "kill stealing" or brags unremittingly about their kill count (rather than understanding that kills+assists is a more important measurement) gets mostly -- if not completely -- ignored by me. Gloryhounds in a team environment simply annoy me.

Ill start muting.

I never go in by myself, but I usually roll with 1 or 2 other people. This means I get 2-3 randos per game. It almost always ends poorly. Either they lock in their squishy champ within 5 seconds and then precede to go 0-5 in mid (I don't mind newbies, but this is bad behavior), or they benefit from good team play and then yell at everyone for not doing better, or...the examples are endless.

It's depressing. Time to roll 4 or 5 only.

I agree 95% of the time about kill stealing complainer. The other 5% of the time, it's worth thinking about whether your carry is going to be able to make the kill when you're playing support, and backing off and letting them get fed.

I'm not good enough to make that call - I'm usually afraid I'll be wrong and let someone escape. Like, if I'm playing Taric and I could stun someone, and I'm not sure if my carry has burned Flash yet, and they're on the edge of their range and we're chasing back to a tower. I'd rather stun and risk killing them than risk missing the kill.

There's a real reason to complain about kill stealing, and a real reason to be aware of your team composition and feeding your carries some kills - but I don't play at that level. And if my complaining teammate is good enough to play that way, there's no excuse for them being at my ELO level

I guess, maybe if it's a sure thing. But if you're playing a good team, there are 0 "sure things". Every champ you come across needs to die as quick as possible, credit be damned. If not, he could get away or buy time for his team to move in.

It's like the USMC motto: be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

The other factor is that this guy is not communicating with the rest of my team on Skype or Vent. So I'd basically have to lay off DPS and hope my comrade has enough left to get the kill. That's not a level of trust I'm willing to have with some rando, who is very likely to be an asshat.

Lastly, every time I've been accused of this, I've been a carry myself.

/ignore ally
/ignore enemy
You can also mute directly from the scoreboard.

I find ragers more funny than anything and I'm pretty immune to all forms of cursing and slurs. They just make me feel all the more satisfied when hitting the report button. The only thing that really irritates me and I mute for is when people spam and when you get two or three people who know each other IRL and feel the need to discuss everything that happened to them last night.

Some days I think I only play pub games so I can fill out reports after the match.

I do 10 Tribunal cases everyday.
Keep on reporting, I'll keep on punishing. Together we can cleanse this game.

I agree 100%. I will never be good enough to be playing at a level where there's any such thing as a legitimate kill-stealing complaint.

Has anyone actually heard of an instance where reporting someone actually resulted in some kind of punishment for them? Or is my suspicion correct that hitting the report button does nothing but pop up the "An email has been sent to the Riot team." without actually sending an email, all to make the players feel better by thinking they are making a difference? I mean serious... Why is it sending an email? Why wouldn't it just be a built in tool that populates a database with all of the reports. It seems like that would make much more sense. Which I guess leads back to, does the reporting tool actually do anything?

A friend of mine was temporarily banned for going AFK in one game and leaving another. I would imagine that was the result of other players reporting him.

A player that receives multiple reports will be put in the Tribunal for judgement.
Summoners can judge up to 10 cases each day (Punish, Pardon, Skip)
When enough Punishes (or pardons) have been reached the case is then forwarded to Riot staff who decide on the proper punishment for the player (or discard the case if pardoned).
When you have correctly judged a case (if you hit punish and the person gets punished or vice versa with pardon) you are sent an email that informs you how many cases you correctly solved and your awarded IP (you get 5 IP for each solved case).
I have assisted in punishing 50+ individual players.
Keep reporting, it works.

After getting about 5 afk queue resets in a row. I am wondering if anyone would like to do some DOM games. I'm a bit under par but have some highlight moments here and there. For the most part I'd like to play with peeps that don't flip their lids when they lose. Someone who can go "yeah we got stomped that last match" and move on.

You have absolutely found the right group then. We are masters of getting stomped.

It's a good attitude. I treat LoL like I treat a round of golf. I don't go home thinking about the 119 bad shots I hit. I remember the one awesome shot.

Tkyl: I've read some posts over on the Tribunal forum on the official site. The general approach is that punishments are usually levied on people who have received multiple reports... and people do get banned/suspended. There are bunches of posts over on that forum from people who are posting just to Female Doggo about getting banned or suspended.

I'm not sure why but I've had REALLY good luck with this. People were sh*tty to guys i was playing with when i first started playing but I've yet to be Female Doggoed at for kill-stealing or anything else really. People have been surprisingly gracious.

Wow. Another reason to get to 30, so I can judge.

Stele wrote:

This scares me for some reason...

actually what concerns me most is that while matchmaking works relatively well at the earlier levels, you can have drastically different skill levels once players hit 30 since that accomplishment is based on playtime, not skill or achievement. Seems like solo queue at that point would be a recipe for even more WTFness than it is in the earlier levels.

Been watching some of the IEM matches today. Dang, really have a ways to improve!

RE: Tribunal

I sometimes wish there was a 'Punish HARDER!' button. After looking at tribunal for a player and reading the chat logs and looking over a few games and careful reasoning I click the 'Punish' button. Next case comes up, and oh my god, this player was guilty of almost every crime it is possible to do in LoL. Complained and whined from the start, about the lane he had, about kill stealing, procedes to feed, curse his team, curse the opponents, throw racial slurs, etc.

Hmm I think, looks a pretty cast iron punish, lets check out the next game to be sure. First line in chat from our reported player: "OMG you bunch of f**king c**ts"

Torq wrote:

To be fair I start out all my games that way.

At the same time, i've read about cases where based on the first few cases the reviewer felt bad about even considering punishing the player... e.g, they were obviously just struggling and having some bad games but weren't behaving badly. However, in the final game reported all of a sudden it seemed like the player just had enough and completely went off the deep end, blurting out every expletive in the book.

I really don't envy you Tribunal people.

If there's one thing this game desperately needs, it's ping flooding protection. Every pubbie seems to think that if he just PINGS THIS TOWER MORE TIMES then everyone will follow his bad advice to head over there. And it's so wonderfully easy to see what's going on at that tower on my minimap when expanding blue rings are drawing over all the hero icons.
