League Of Legends Catch All

Added. I'm lvl 6 now. Still my performance varies a lot, what can you do. The problem I see is that I don't use voice communication in games. So if you guys need that I'll be doing the listening and following orders and helping out.

No voice is fine. There are a few others on the Mumble server that listen only.
Just be quick on the keys and pings

Just played Jenna for the first time -- first time trying support at all really. So much more fun than I thought it would be.

Support is a lot of fun as long as you have someone worth supporting. Playing pub games as support can often be an exercise in frustration. Janna is a great support character, but my 2 favorites so far are Alistar and Zilean.

You should try Janna, she is even better.

I've just had a cerebral hemorrhage.

Anivia, Sona, and Leona free this week. Interested in all of them, but doubt I have enough IP.

You don't always have 10k just lying around? Am I the only one?

your IPs. Give them to me.

Last I checked I'm at 13K. Money is cheap, IPs are not

You're just trying to clone my account, aren't you? :p

Hardy har har har.

Recently found out that for a draft pick I have to own 14 champions. This really sucks. Blind pick is annoying when you get the same champions on both teams. HoN modes of champion selection > LoL's.

I have to agree. I wish champions were 1 per game in all modes.

You need to own much less than that. Since the game is 5v5 and there are 4 bans, you need a total of 14 (or 15?) champs and there are 8 free every week. I guess it depends on who is free that week. If you own 2 champs that are free, you need to own 9, I guess.

Going to be playing in the new LoL test realm in a few minutes.

Because Fedora was way to obvious in his hacking. SUBTLETY BRO!! Try it.

On another note, I want a superhero champion.

So you are responsible for this new Teemo skin? Nice!

are you under NDA, or could you share (read brags) what you'll be testing?

There is no NDA. http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/...
The test realm went offline right when my DL finished
It might be back up later tonight.

A gentle reminder/request.

This is a team game; we win and lose as a team. I don't mind if you're bad because you're a newbie, and I don't mind if you warn me up front that you're going to try something a little different. That's fine. But if you're a veteran, and you're making mistakes, and you're displaying an especially mind-boggling inability to curb this behavior over the course of months, kindly get the f*ck out of my game. Not all of us have an unlimited amount of games to play each night (some of us, just one).

You're all lovely people to play with at heart, but I don't expect to be frustrated by a lack of tactics and self-restraint when we get a veteran 5-man together.

Quick, dunkey, break the awkward silence!

Weo Weo Ashe also cracks me up. I watched Reginald playing these on his stream, and seeing him laugh made me laugh twice as hard. So many great quotes in both vids, but I like the Ashe one the best. Making noises as you shoot the ult arrow across the map is childish and awesome.

"Not even close, baybee."

On the plus side: Anivia is a lot of fun to play with.

On the negative side: My group of 3-4 friends went 1-8 last night and over half of the games I had to report the randoms on our team for being assholes.

Hate this game sometimes/all the times.

I played some bot games with Anivia. What build did you use?

Placing the wall correctly (right place, right time) looks like a lot of responsibility in a PvP game. Seems like it would be too easy for a bad player (read: me) to screw your own team with the wall rather than slicing the other team in half, or slicing the right players from the other team off from their teammates.

It also looks like you have to be very careful in the early game and not overextend, as the bird feels super slow. And, I never seem to remember to turn off my ult. "Who put down that green circle? Ohhh...that was me, 15 seconds ago."

I don't think I'll play her against real people until I get better at the wall and using the ult properly.

I don't have any advanced skill with the wall to win team fights by splitting, yet. I used it to cut off pursuers and stop retreaters. I really like that the wall has a high skill rating, for me to learn and get better at. Her Q skill shot detonate and then E for double damage combo is SO deadly early on if you have opponents that are careless for a second. The ult is amazing for cleaning creep waves and getting real paid to get those items. I was building mana crystal first, magic pen boots (forget the name), then catalyst the protector into rod of ages to get those benefit over time items asap. After that it depended; usually deathcap or void staff to focus on offense. Pretty brittle build, though.

Anivia used to be my strongest champ, but I haven't played her in a while.

You're right about the wall. I've definitely killed teammates with it, but I've also saved teammates and completely changed team fights. It's a difficult skill to master (not that I would claim mastery of it).

As for my Anivia build, I liked Ghost/Flash as my summoners (when I first started, Clarity/Flash was necessary).

I do standard 9/0/21 masteries (with improved Ghost/Flash or Clarity/Flash).

My rune page is Mpen/Flat(?) Mana Regen/Cool Down per level/Flat Health (Reds/Yellows/Blues/Quints) though were I to build a rune page specifically for her, I might do Move Speed Quints.

Because of her low base speed, I start Boots/3x Health Pots. Then I typically go for a Tear of the Goddess (gotta build up that mana pool) and then a Rod of Ages. I'll then either upgrade the Tear to an Archangels or go straight for the Deathcap. Usually, you don't get much past those 3 main items.

You could go more AP heavy after that, or you could go more defensive. I've been known to get a Banshee's Veil or a Frozen Heart or both.

As for boots, I actually like Boots of Swiftness on her, but I could see sorc shoes or merc treads.

Part of the reason you go boots first is that if you land a max range stun, you have enough speed to get in range for your E, this makes her early harass really strong. If you get good at landing that stun, you will be really, really mean.

One of the most important things for Anivia is blue buff. When you have blue, you can leave your ult on indefinitely. Anivia is a VERY strong zone control champion which is why she's really hard to play, but can singlehandedly turn a teamfight or a game around. The wall and her ultimate are extremely powerful spells, she has an AOE stun, a large nuke, and a built in Guardian Angel.

Edit: One last high skill combo. If you're really good (I'm not), you can consistently cast your E and while it's in the air, cast your R and when the E hits it will deal the double damage.

Another similar example is Brand. You can cast his instant ignite and then throw his stun, or you can throw the stun and do the instant ignite while it's in the air. It's not always best to reverse the order, but it can make it harder to dodge.

I do sometimes forget to turn of Anivia's ult, but if you can treat it like Singed's poison and only use it exactly as much as you need it, your mana lasts sooooooooo much longer.

Kaos is the real pro, listen to him

I want to sig that just for the sheer inaccuracy, but I have room for 2 more characters without editing Fletcher's immortal words, and I can't bring myself to do so.

Some the guys have played with me as Anivia in the past. Not sure I've ever killed a teammate with an ill placed wall, but I have certainly saved a few enemies with it. It definitely takes same a lot of practice, but its very satisfying when you get it working.
