[trailer] Avengers! My day is made

Joss Whedon sets my fears to rest. The man who gave us Serenity knows how to balance action, humour, and awesome.

Mark Ruffalo rules.

Looks kinda cool. Might have to watch this.

What kind of bums me out is Bruce Banner is now on his 3rd actor. It really is getting annoying. I actually liked Eric Bana but Norton did bring me back with his rendition but now this new guy (Mark Ruffalo) though...I don't know. I know the Hulk character is not really know for his lines but yeah. If that is really my only gripe I think that is pretty cool about this movie.

I, too, liked both Hulk actors. Ruffalo is pretty solid as well.

I just noticed Tony Stark was wearing a Black Sabbath T-shirt.

Can the "BRAAAAAAAAWM!!" thing in trailers be done now? Or can we at least make them more like the Inception trailer and less like the Transformers trailer?

I can't wait for this. When I'm watching this with my son it will be two 10 y/os sitting next to each other.

Really like Jeremy Renner and have since SWAT (Shut up). I hope they actually let him do Hawkeye and he is not just a background player.

Not a big Mark Ruffalo fan and don't see him as Bruce Banner. Love Eric Bana but same problem. Edward Norton has had the best take on the character in years. They dropped the ball letting him go.

I'll still go see it though. Kinda hoping Loki isn't the only baddie.

I think I visibly deflated when I found out Edward Norton wasn't playing the Hulk in the Avengers, he's one of my favourite actors.

I guess having all four Avengers played by the same actors from the initial movies would have been too much concentrated awesome and would have sucked the Earth into a blackhole... an awesome blackhole, but a blackhole nonetheless, so perhaps for the best.

I think the issues with Norton's contract was about money and surfaced almost immediately after the movie released.

It's a pitty because I really enjoyed his performance.

I thought it was about creative control. IIRC his contracts stipulate he is involved in writing the script, and he had major issues with hulk, rewriting much of it. Marvel didn't like that.

Yeah, I remember stories saying he was a bit of a control freak, trying to turn the movie he was in into something more like the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferigino TV show than the comic books.

What, he wanted to be called David Banner?

That takes nerve, demanding influence over a long time major Marvel character.

Featuring the Human torch as Captain America, Sherlock Holmes as Ironman and that dude from romantic comedies as Hulk

no but seriously, a THIRD actor for the Hulk?? couldn't agree more ... Norton did the job just fine

*sad panda face*

I like Norton a lot but never really saw him as Banner.

woot! eye candy

Is it just me or does Chris Hemsworth look different in the trailer than he did in Thor? I can't put my finger on it...he either looks blonder or looks smaller, something.

I agree; I wasn't even sure it was the same actor at first.

He's wearing a different costume, and I think his hair looks a bit different.

That and the fact he's not standing next to a 5'2" Natalie Portman. That girl is teeny, so she made him look even bigger than he actually is by comparison.

Yes, but he was also standing next to Kat Dennnings who is quite a bit, um, bigger than Natalie Portman.

Probably a case of pay scale too. I suspect that he demands more pay than Rufallo does.

I thought it was the other way around? That he brought it from what was going to be closer to the tv show back in line with the comic book. Either way he definitely was using his clout to get his way.

Anyone else vaguely worried about Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill? I mean she's funny and pretty, neither of which are adjectives I'd use to describe Hill.

No. Now Robin Sparkles on the other hand...

Anyone else think that it is weird how no one ever seems to notice how chesty Ms. Dennings is in the roles she plays? At least not anything I've seen her in. I think that is odd since they are big enough to effect the speech areas of my brain. "Hello, Boobs. How are you boobing today? Anything I can boob you with? Beeeewwwwbzzz."

Did it get a mention in that mixtapeplaylist movie?

The trailer was a bit heavy on Iron Man. And short on bad guy stuff. That said it's a very early trailer, I am sure they will release something with more depth as we get closer to the premier date.

It might have been mentioned in 2 Broke Girls. I wasn't really listening.
