It's coming in September I think.

Last I heard, it was still scheduled for September, which they are considering the summer.

I suppose that's still summer. It's certainly summer by Valve time.

The Earth's orbit would agree with "them".

Yeah if it's not out by Sept 22? or whatever, then we can start asking.

Just because Labor Day and kids going back to school feels like the end of summer doesn't mean it is.

Something I just noticed, why does the art change in the relaxation vault?

That's kind of brilliant -- I missed it entirely. The nighttime version seems less relaxing and more ominous, and

Spoiler:

would be the first reference to the moon in the game, right?

The only thing I can think of is that it goes along with Aperture's voice recordings for every occasion. They had someone/thing cycle the art around for every extended sleep cycle to maintain the mental stimulation.

I guess that speaks to Valve's "environmental storytelling" genius, put in a little detail and watch the gamers make up their own little story about it and fill out the world, which is better in many respects than force feeding it to players, and I imagine more likely to be accepted by the player as they did it themselves (assuming they imagined what you wanted them to).

That's what my guess was as well.

Also, yeah, the September DLC seems to be running pretty firmly on Valve time.

Pretty happy I happened to think about it and ask about it the day before the release date was announced. That amused me.

What release date?

If anyone is still looking for a partner to play co-op with, I haven't touched it at all and would love to try it with a fellow goodjer. Please send me a PM with your Steam name so I can keep up with who's available (I'm on Pacific time and married, so bear that in mind too). Thanks in advance, and I promise to be not quite as drunk as I am right now.

October 5th, if the announcement is to be believed.

Though since it's Valve, that means that the date is completely fluid between then and the end of time.

Release date of Portal 2 DLC = October 5th 2011 + or - a few months. Release date of Half Life Episode 3 = Who knows + or - the end of time.

Joystiq is reporting tomorrow

Finally got around to finishing this yesterday. Man, broken arms suck.

DLC is live! It's quite meaty too: 1.37gigs.

Who's up for some more co-op on 360?

FTFY

I sure do love me some Portal co-op.

PC/PS3 coop!

Is it out on PS3 yet? They're usually late updating their store, on Tues night.

Wait. Hold the presses. Cross platform multiplay? Why have I not heard of this?!

Only works with PS3 and PC.

Fan-made Aperture Science documentary.
