Recommend me a gaming chair

But will it fit in the limited space?

Does it have to be a chair?

Any particular reason you're helping the shill by quoting his post?

Hey, he might be a shill but he posted something entirely relevant to the thread (even if he did necro it). That's gotta be the first time I've seen an ad spammer do something more or less appropriate

And no link in the quote, so pretty harmless.

The buggers are getting smarter.

This thread has no reference to the Markus, so I feel compelled to post.

When I was looking for a computer chair a few months ago, I wanted something that wasn't as costly as an Aeron, but was an acceptable "Aeron alternative".

Lots of them were crap, of course, but one kept popping up with extremely positive recommendations (on blogs, forums, and HackerNews comments, not sites that were selling things). And that chair was the Markus chair from IKEA:

$150 for the blue, orange, or green ones with cloth seat, or $199 for the black one with leather seat. I have the blue one, and it's fantastic. Best chair I've sat in that isn't $300+. So here's another recommendation on a forum to join the chorus.

What exactly is going on with that chair? Does it have a mesh back?

No, it's a warp field through sub-space.

Is sub-space an issue?

Interestingly enough I still need a good gaming chair. I'm using a dining room chair with a massage pad on it. It's kinda ghetto but it works. And another thing is that I might be going to IKEA today. We might have a winner!

Although ... maybe I don't understand what it takes to make a black chair over a blue/green/red chair, but an extra 50 bucks? Really?

The color doesn't matter, but it's leather versus cloth.

On a serious note, I have to recommend tilt lock for the seat angle.

The Ikea Poang chair is amazing for gaming. And so cheap!

One of the best things about Herman Miller chairs is the mesh seat. Free and breezy.

Arise 2 month old thread! I ended up getting the Markus chair from Ikea (the leather $199 one) and would recommend it highly. It's an amazing chair and more comfortable than other chairs I've sat in. The high-back on the chair is great when I'm watching tv as well. I can recline the chair and lock the back where-ever I want it.

In all honesty, let me know how an Ikea chair holds up because when it falls apart space might be an issue.

(I'm serious about the first part.)

If it falls apart it wont be a chair!

But is has to be!

A chair by any other name (dramatic pause) is still a chair.

I'll let you know how it goes. I've had the chair for a couple months now and it's held up really well. I'm not an overly skinny fellow either

Does it, though?

But after being under gamer ass for a week, will it smell as sweet?

That's all fine and dandy Sir Spamalot, but what if space is an issue?

I dunno, I almost wonder if that's someone's ironic sock puppet.

Probably, but he does have a point. A bean bag can make a decent comfy gaming chair.

I need a chair. Lets say less than $500 and can support a fatty. The lesser the better but I would like one that would last. My last two broke down pretty fast but they were less than $60 from fred myers. I want something more serious and can last for years if possible or at least 1 year for every $100 I put into it.
