oohh boy...that''ll go over well with this crowd

I''ve only had UT2K4 for a few days but i almost only play this mod and Deathball. It''s really good and original.

Communication between teammates is the key to victory which is a scarse feature in UT. The navigation part is a bit slow, but the battles are frenetic. And successfuly boarding a ship is extatic.

The smaller ship requires a crew of three: one pilot, one man loading and firing, and one aiming the canon. When not fighting, the last two must keep watch (using the telescope to examine other ships'' crew - friend or foe?-), lay and destroy mines, get treasure... Good pilots work in concert with friendly ships to trap their target.

Highly recommended.

Wow, I didn''t see any kind of coordination like that when I played it. Took me awhile to figure out how to fire the cannon, but even after I figured it out, it was impossible to hit anything. I can see how needing more than one person to effectively use a cannon is key. I guess you just have to join the right game, because my two times in the game wern''t anything like what you describe.

Well... like i said communication is essential. When you liftoff, someone has to assign roles... and pray the crew will obey.

Tip: ''y'' is to speak to the people onboard only.

About aiming, the canonball has a relatively short range. Altitude advantage is a must. Try loading rockets(alt-fire) if you''re too far.... Also, there''s a few good beginner threads on the mod''s forum.

On the public servers, there''s a lots of newbs, spaced-out stoners and kids who should pop their whole ritalin prescription instead of TKing... but once you find a good crew, it''s very cool.

Played this for the first time last night...what a blast.

I remember playing this mod a few months ago, I really liked it but couldn''t find any good servers that weren''t crowded with bastards who shoot down their teams ships. Maybe it changed by now.
