NFL 2011 Week 2

And why the heck do I have NFL RedZone right now? Just decided to flip up there to check, as I know a lot of cable companies gave it free last week to tempt you into it. But apparently it's on for me.

Maybe I will actually see some 49ers highlights then. I really wasn't looking forward to Miami being my only game after 4.

Question:

Why is everyone wearing their home jerseys away and away jerseys at home?

Teams in hot climates often like wearing whites at home in September. Jacksonville does it every year.

The home team has the choice of what uniform to wear. (That's what allows Dallas to wear their whites at home every week).

My two favorite football teams have historically bad defenses right now. It's just brutal. And I thought Kansas giving up 604 yards rushing yesterday was bad. The Chiefs and Jayhawks have given up 214 points (and counting) in five games so far this year.

Like Legion, I'm not a fan of firing coaches in season, either. But Haley refused to prepare the team going in to the season, even telling reporters he didn't care how everyone else was preparing. I'm not sure how you can continue to let him put the team on the field. Supposedly he concentrated on conditioning, yet the chiefs are suffering injuries at an alarming rate.

Apparently the mirage of a weak schedule and Charley Weiss running the offense saved Haley last season. But I'd fire him in the locker room after the game, to be honest.

Wild card game: Ravens at Titans - Come on, it is the Ravens and Titans. After no pre-season Johnson will be lucky if he gets 50 yards and the over/under on Hasslebeck sacks is 5.

Todd Haley, well.... dysfunction.

Detroit's trying to get him fired, it looks like.

Haha!

You are right, Johnson got 53 yards.

Guess Newton came back down to earth, but still had a decent number of yards. Better than expected against GB.

Luke McCown threw 4 INTs? Guess he won't be starting next week.

It's the beginning of the Blaine Gabbert era. And not a moment too soon.

I think part of the team's reluctance to start Gabbert early was due to the offensive line. Eben Britton missed all preseason, Will Rackley is starting as a rookie at LG, and the whole group was not very sound in preseason. Britton is back, and the whole group has been much better since the start of the season (the Jets only sacked McCown once, and pressure was little factor in the INTs or the offensive struggles as a whole).

The O-line is still getting back to form, but they've been playing too well for the team's QB play to be so poor. And Gabbert started moving the offense as soon as he came in (and the Jets were still blitzing).

Texans' offense AND defense looking good vs Miami so far; Miami doing good to hold them to field goals.

Schaub did roll the dice on a throw into coverage that was tipped, but Jacoby Jones somehow came up with it for huge yardage.

Regarding the uni thing, the Dolphis are also wearing white today. Texans look awesome but warm in their navy blues.

Hail to the Redskins! I'm a believer again.

Crying Cowboys are delicious! Unless they put Stephen McGee in. Then I momentarily transform into a Cowboys backer.

What would completely rock is if McGee got traded to Denver and took over there as starter. Then I could more easily hate on the 'boys (bonus points if Martellus Bennett got traded, too) and would have more reason to cheer the Broncos, who already have Aggies Von Miller and Ty Warren.

What a game. Down 17-0 at halftime. Down 20-10 with nine minutes to go. TD pass to win with 31 seconds left in the game. He now has 8 4th quarter comebacks to win in 27 career starts; my Josh Freeman-crush is currently at dangerously epic levels. We were in the third row at the 35, two seats directly behind Bucs LT Donald Penn's wife, sister, and dad, and, as LaGarrette Blount scored the winning TD, I screamed out, "NICE BLOCKING, PENN FAMILY!" and got a high-five.

That was an epic comeback, greatly helped along by the inexplicable lack of Adrian Peterson in the 4th quarter. I've now been to games the last two years, and the Bucs have won them with TD with 10 and 31 seconds left, respectively.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Jamaal Charles, ACL torn, out for season.

Romo's out, too. Reason unknown.

Romo hurt? Damn, gonna start calling that dude Hasselbeck Jr.

This is the first year I've had Red Zone channel on Direct TV, I got it stand alone without Sunday Ticket. How the hell did I watch football before this?

Aw, damn. Both from a fantasy perspective and it's just fun to watch him run.

Yeah, pretty heartbreaking.

Looks like we will see how ready Dexter McCluster is.

Experiencing my first day of it too. It's glorious.

Rib injury

Romo back! Wtf?

Considering how old Candlestick is, Jerry Jones probably needed to use carrier pigeons to order Garrett to put Romo back in.

I'm not sure why the Bucs OC is so horrible the 1st half. Can't he adapt BEFORE going into the locker room? Also, just hand the ball more to the RB. At half, he once again only had 5 carries?!?!?!

Former Gopher Eric Decker having a nice game for the Broncos.

Yeah this is weird.

And TD to Austin. Holy crap.

If the Cowboys lose to the 49ers, I will root for the Bills this year.

WOW what a finish. Romo shut up the haters

Well I guess I can go back to hating the Cowboys instead of feeling sorry for them. Jerks. :p

I must have not read this in the newspaper: so the Niners are sharing their stadium with Dallas now?
