NFL 2011 Week 2

Lions
Buccaneers
Patriots
Rams

Tiebreaker: Browns over the Colts. I would have put my old high school team instead of the Browns, but they don't play the Colts this week.

Lions
Vikings
Patriots
Giants

For my tie-breaker, how about the Bills at home vs Oakland. West coast team+early road game=bad. For the record I think Buffalo is mediocre at best, but the circumstances make the pick irresistible for me.

Lions
Bucs
Patriots
Giants

Wildcard: Titans over Ravens. Yeah I went there, if I'm going to have the worst pick em record I at least want to go big.

What the heck happened? I don't check the thread for 8 hours and stuff goes crazy. *cough*IblameCertisandLegion*cough*

Chiefs at Lions

Buccaneers at Vikings

Chargers at Patriots

Rams at Giants

Wildcard:

Bengals at Broncos

Lions - Chiefs suck. Looking at you Haley.
Buccaneers - This is going to be a fun game or the Bucs will ran rampant.
Patriots - Chargers + September = Loss
Rams - Giants are too injured which is a shame, if they were healthy I think they would be a playoff team.

Wildcard: Steelers over Seahawks, the hawks have no chance with it being in Steeler country and the horrible awful lying refs from Super Bowl XL calling it.

I didn't even know they were allowed to hit in Canadian football..

Chiefs at Lions: Not even a close game

Buccaneers at Vikings: Close game, but the Vikes yank it out.

Chargers at Patriots: Anyone beating the Patsies at home? Nope.

Rams at Giants: The Giants bounce back. The Rams just bounce.

Wildcard: I wanted to pick the Packers over the Panthers, but that's just too easy, so Broncos over Bengals: The Bengals wake up and realize the season has started and they are still the Bengals.

Chiefs - Yeah, I'm probably dreaming. But at least Legion has my back!
Vikings
Patriots
Giants

Wildcard - Bills over the Raiders

Detroit... still stuck in "last" place:

Old habits die hard...

What's wrong with tackling in the NFL in one play - skip to the play that begins at 7:27:

Benny Sapp was cut after this game, due mostly to giving up the 99-yard play to Wes Welker. After that "hit", he would have been cut from my roster immediately, and someone else would have been covering Welker when that play happened.

Good tackling was one of the nice things from the Ravens game. Even the cornerbacks, specifically Lardarius Webb (who has always tackled well), were in on it. Of course, I'm sure John Harbaugh drilled tackling into the Ravens considering they were playing the Steelers.

I have a question from back in the pre-season thread, where folks were making predictions. One Goodjer who shall remain nameless* had the Texans winning the AFC South and then playing in a WC game. We here in Houston haven't needed to understand how these things work for a long time, but I thought winning your division meant that you made the playoffs with no wildcard game.

*It was MilkManDan.

Being that the division winners with the 3rd and 4th best records play in the Wild Card round, I'm not sure there's much of a problem with that.

Chiefs at Lions: Lions
Buccaneers at Vikings: Buccaneers
Chargers at Patriots: Patriots
Rams at Giants: NY Giants

Wild Card
Oakland at Buffalo: Buffalo

There you go, learned something new. Thanks!

This is such a nonstory I won't even link to it on PFT, but Chris Johnson thinks the Ravens were trying to hurt him in the 2008 playoff game. Whatevs. But these are the sort of stories I like to read some of the comments because they can be ... interesting. Anyway, this one in particular caught my eye:

If football is too tough for Chris Johnson then he should go play QB.

Ain't that the truth.

This is my O face!

Chiefs at Lions - Assuming Stafford makes it through two games.

Buccaneers at Vikings - I think McNabb will bounce back and it is a toss-up between these two teams, so home field advantage.

Chargers at Patriots - Speaking of home field advantage... I stay away from teams going cross-country, and teams playing the Pats in Foxboro.

Rams at Giants - Kind of a tossup game and I want the Rams to win so I am going with that.

Wild card game: Ravens at Titans - Come on, it is the Ravens and Titans. After no pre-season Johnson will be lucky if he gets 50 yards and the over/under on Hasslebeck sacks is 5.

Chiefs at Lions
Bucs at Vikings
Chargers at Patriots
Rams at Giants
49ers over Cowboys

Read 'em and weap!

That's what happens when you chicken out of actually making your own picks just because you don't want to be wrong week 1

Packers, Falcons, Steelers, Jets. That was pretty easy (and popular).

tiebreak: Tenn over Jacksonville. I wanna see this Garrard thing blow up in their faces.

Yes, I'm terrible for putting it in a format so you wouldn't see it. Still, I'm 2-3.

Lions
Vikings
Patriots
Giants

Wildcard: Packers over Panthers

Edit: Now bolding week 1 picks that were missed in week 1

Lions
Bucs
Patriots
Giants
Steelers

Usually I'm not a big fan of The Onion's sports coverage because it's too fictional but they're now producing a weekly video for Grantland. I found it pretty damn enjoyable. http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/4226/first-look-the-onions-get-out-of-my-face

Mother-in-law got me a birthday present today: tickets to the Saints-Bucs game on Oct 16.

Guess I won't have to worry about blackouts that week.

Does she have other daughters?

I'll be in NC after this weekend so neither will I!

Haha. Yes, 2 younger ones. You'll have to pretend to be a Titans and/or Bears (Cutler-from Vandy) fan to get in with the family though.

Ugh, never mind, then.
