The 2011 Post-PAX Party

Twilight Imperium is super complicated. Shame we all had to leave just before it was getting interesting.

Yeah, I wish I could have gotten you guys through the whole game. It can swing pretty hard at the end.
I had a blast at the party. Big thanks to docbadwrench and family for opening their home to us!

Yeah, I said it on Twitter, but now I can spell it out with full words: big thanks to the docbadwrench household for hosting the post-PAX bash! Thanks for letting us run roughshod over your home, thanks for the enchiladas, and thanks for containing Fiasco—what happens at docbadwrench's stays at docbadwrench's.

The post-PAX bash was a huge success, and Fiasco was weird and wonderful and gross and hilarious. It was the perfect ending to such a great weekend.
Thanks for everything, docbadwrench! You and your family are awesome.

It'll all end in tears! Also fire, nudity.

We were very happy to host! I'm glad everyone had a great time. Now I need to compile some photos and what-not. Gotta show those non-attendees what they missed.

Sounds like a successful business plan to me! And many thanks to the docbadhouse for hosting, feeding, and putting up with our schenanigans.

Wait... there were photos? Uh oh.

Oh yes, there were photos.

These are just some of the ones I pick. The rest will be posted as soon as I get all my week's photos sorted, named, and uploaded.

Here are the group shots I took:

Apparently I can't not make faces! To be fair, I was pretty well toasted by then. See that bottle of Jim Beam?

The level of liquid in that bottle was above the edge of the label when the party started.

Doc! Did you take any photos of the WHITE BOARD??

WHITE BOARD doesn't even post on the forums anymore.

For once, Q-stone doesn't have the nerdiest t-shirt in the room.

What was the inspiration for the last group photo. Most interesting man in the world meets duckface?

I have no idea. Ask the bourbon.

Q's a lightweight.

You had me at fire.

Nudity's just a bonus?

Whiteboard (and my wife) don't have accounts on the board, so here:

Sorry for the embarrassing delay. I have been hellishly busy. I'm completely behind in my podcast listeningness. Did our little get together get any kind of mention? Did the hosts beat themselves up because they missed out on free OnLive consoles and good natured partying? They totally should...

Anyway, here's a thought: Let's us (relatively) local Seattle people not wait a whole friggin' year before doing that again. I'm still hoping on a nice BBQ at some point before Christmas. I think that'd be nice. The only rule is no Twilight Imperium. Seriously. I like you people too much to have a small portion of them relegated to the garage for six hours only to not be half done.

I can't wait for next year.

We were all about to wreck each others sh*t too

All of us had massive fleets that were butting heads at the border. Except for Renji, the "warmongering" empire.

Sorry about that.
If I'm able to make the next Seattle get-together, I'll pack my party games and leave that beast behind.

It's okay. I know we get excited about all the games we usually never get to play, I just felt bad that our group got split up for the whole night. Maybe we can get trickier with the furniture and try to inhabit the kitchen through the main living area. That might be a way to help, too.

To be fair, Fiasco also took forever, though was fun as hell.

At least we finished, and the action was pretty much non-stop.

^ I bet Yellek never says that

Hello, peeps! My full PAX11 album is now available:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/qhstone...

It contains all my photos from PAX (many of which are horribly blurry, sorry, still getting used to the new camera) and from both of the GWJ gatherings.

Edit: New link! Wasn't permissions so much as picture "safety level".
